Hi there, my name is Hans.
I'm from Long Island, and thus am doomed. Don't believe me? You try bugging out through New York City during rush hour. Not gonna happen.
The short version is I am former boy-scout, National Guardsman commo guy, and many other "used to be" things.
For some good stories on those old topics, check out the links in my signature.
Currently I work for an FAA subcontractor providing radio communication out beyond radar. It's a fun job, it pays the bills, but lets not bore you all with that.
The above, as well as family influences and experiences, have always kept me in a preparedness state of mind.
Though I've gotten away from camping over the years unfortunately. My wife doesn't care for it, I hope my child-to-be will.
I've been a rifle shooter all my life as well as a 3rd generation Winchester collector. I'm also a former almost-pro paintball player on one of the very few stock-class teams to compete in open tournaments, until the sport turned to crap.
I tinker, build, modify and enjoy fixing just about anything mechanical that I can get my hands on, and the occasional electronics too.
Um, and that's it.

What do i look like? Go see trip pictures, chances are I'm the only female atm.
What: I'm an architect just starting out. I work on a bunch of projects, which currently includes military, transportation, and corrections work.
Where: New York City, though I spend lots of time upstate too.
Why: Well, I could blame it on theLight as he seems to get me into all sorts of random, but I caught the outdoor bug long before that. I really love learning new skills and am really interested in the things that I can absorb along the way.
Random: I love being crafty. My newest thing to tackle is knitting/weave/spinning/dye to make my own items.

Who are you? Chris, Canuckistani Emissary to ZS-007. Yes, this bunch of people is awesome enough to lure me several hundred miles a couple of times a year.
What do you do? I'm returning to school come September, and trying to fill in the time with courses and part-time work.
What do you look like?

Where are you? Oakville, a suburb of Toronto, Canada.
Why? I always loved camping, but the military taught me to be prepared. I started seeing everything in a different light once I left the military.
Random Fact: I write stories.

I'm Chris
I'm finishing up grad school at Michigan State University. I start working as an assistant professor at the US Military Academy at West Point in a few months. I'll probably live near West Point.

I guess my purpose in potentially joining this group would be to learn from other members. I spent 4 years as an officer in the Air Force, and I have a pretty solid set of gear related to preparedness. So I'm not starting from scratch. But my outdoor skills could certainly be improved, and it seems that there are people in this group who might be well informed on such topics. I'll also be new to New York, so knowing a few people might ease the transition.

My name is Kevin, and I am the ZS 007 Vice President.

I am a line cook, currently on hiatus from the trade.
Preparedness has interested me, as well as surviving in the outdoors without having to chew my own legs off for food, so this place rocks. Oh, and also, I hate Zombies.

These are my preps. There are many like them, but these are mine. I must prep for real possibilities. I must think clearer than the Zeds who may try to kill me. I must be prepared to help myself so I might be prepared to help those in need. I will. We are the saviors of my life. So be it, until disaster has past and there is no enemy, but sloth!

Little more recent pic of me with my son
What do you do: right now I am seeking a job
I like tattoos, motorcycles, cooking, living a little rough sometimes, guns, and cold hard cash. I like to cause trouble now and again, earned me my nickname. I enjoy cooking for people as well as doing my best as a dad and find a lot of satisfaction in tinkering and fixing things. I am currently trying to start my own salvage motorcycle business. I joined the site because I love the story of the zombie and chaos that goes with it. I have no real training besides 3 years of haibusai and 1 1/2 years self defense, but love to read and learn about survival in every way shape and form. Could be combat, self sufficient living, or preparations for the unthinkable. hope I can learn a lot from you guys and give something back as well.

(No im not a thug, I just had cash at the time and wanted a picture to remember it
)
I grew up in a little town called Naples (yes andy I know who you are) and moved to canandaigua. I miss living in the hills of naples...nobody ever bothered me and it was in the middle of nowhere. Where i live now is a nightmare, surrounded by idiots and what are basically a more lively form of zombie.

I'm 22.
This is what I look like:

I'm a Wildlife Technician, but I'm in between real jobs at the moment, so I'm going to be working at Best Buy for a bit as a Geek Squad guy.
I'm living in a tiny room in my parents' basement on Long Island until I can finally get out of this state.
I joined ZS because I love Zombie movies, preparedness, and I find pretty much every thread here fascinating.

My name's Matt, but since my first year of college close friends have called me Bluto. If you've seen Animal House, you'll understand. I'm a native of northeastern Queens, just a couple of miles from Nassau County.
I'm a Mechanical Engineer by trade, and I've recently started a new job as a construction inspector for a firm that carries out controlled inspections for the NYC department buildings. When I'm not working, I'm a huge fan of the outdoors, a zombie movie fan, and a firearms collector who enjoys camping, fishing, hunting, shooting, cars, music, collecting and fixing up old surplus rifles, and a million other things.
Here's my ugly mug about a week ago.

Here I am modeling my "tactical bathrobe" in late 2008.

I just recently moved back to my parents' house in northeastern Queens after living in Virginia for the past 6 months. I originally moved down there with my now ex-fiancee to find a job after I was laid off in late February from my last job, but things didn't work out so I'm back. It was really nice living in such a gun-friendly state as VA, and I miss it a lot. However, it's great to be closer to my friends and family again.
Looking forward to getting to know you guys and gals and making some of the meetings.

Re: ZSC-007 Roll Call - Pics and Bios only
Hi, my name is Dan I'm 59 years old & a recently retired journeyman pipefitter. I live in Nortern New York state 13 miles from the St Lawrence River & Quebec, Canada W/Ontario, Canada just accross the river.
I'm not much of a "survivalist" except for the fact that I have retained the ability to harvest my own meat & grow my own vegetables. I try to be self sufficient as far as doing my own home repairs & car repairs as long as they do not require crawling under the vehicle.
I own 106 acre "hobby farm" on the banks of the St. Regis River. Here is a photo of my back yard.

I harvest much of my meat from the farm. One of the few pictures of myself that survived a nasty spyware infection of my hard drive shows me W/some meat that I harvested from my property.

I guess I will have to start pursuing zombies now. Any load suggestions? How about recipes?
My interests include: Hunting, fishing, sporting arms, competition shotgun shooting, reloading both shot shells & centerfire rifle ammunition, gardening & kayaking, both paddling & sailing.
Those of you that participated in Paddlefest I might recognize the island that apears ocasionaly off the starbord side as I pan the camera in this video clip. (that's Wifey in the front seat)

That is Geen Island @ the northern end of the narrows of Upper Saranac Lake just a short distance (by sail) from the boat ramp near Saranac Inn. I saw that island in one of the pix of the Paddlefest I.
