Finally got to the range yesterday, its been killing me - having it and not being able to fire it.
It was fucking feezing and quite windy and I wans't wearing enough layers, so I struggled to load the internal magazine as I couldn't feel my hands, let alone my fingers (must buy some gloves)
I was a little annoyed as my new toy wouldn't zero, even with the scope turned all the way to the left, it was still shooting about 6 inches right at 100 yards, so I didn't really try for any real accuracy, I just wanted to zero it in. So I snatched most of my shots and didn't line them up completely and still manged 3 inch groups using Prvi 147 grain FMJ - not too bad considering I wasn't really trying. I think my scope was attached wrong or out of line, so I have taken it off tonight and put i back on carfully, hopefully this will fix my problem. I will find out next Thursday.

Incidentally, what are the rules for possession and ownership over there? And I thought handguns weren't legal, or is blackpowder/non-cartridge okay..?
Curious,
Mike
Thats right, only black powder pistols are allowed, so I bought one. Other than that it needs to have a 12" min. barrel and 24" OAL like this:
Sig_Ocelot wrote:Fantastic looking rifle! I really like the reticule as well. How is the trigger pull on the 700? I hear they can be hit or miss. Also, how many rounds of .308 can you stockpile? Just out of curiosity.
For the money I had and magnification I wanted there were only two scopes thats fit the bill. Both were by Hawke and the only difference was the reticule, either a Mildot one or the one I got. I went for the fancy one because, well, it looks fancy!
The comapny I bought my rifle from plays with them a bit before they sell them, they call it 'fettling' or 'fettled'. They polish the bolt rail to make it smoother, make the trigger pull as light as safely possible and recut the muzzle and recrown it. The trigger on mine is very crisp with no travel and breaks nice and easy. I am legally allowed to buy no more than 500 rounds of .308 at any one time and can be in possession of no more than 600 rounds.

Also another suggestion would be to up grade the stock, Unfortunately Remington skimped on the injection molded stock. It's not free floating, but it's still a very acceptable out of the box rifle.
Have fun shooting!
We (my Dad and myself) have only just started reloading, all the ammo in the photos is Prvi stuff. I'll try and find some of the Federal ammo, but its going to be pricey over here and as for reloading probably a 168 grain as the furthest i'll realistically shooting is 600 yards and that will only be a maximum of 6 times a year.
I fully intend on putting an AICS stock on when I can afford it, so i'm not too concered with the current stock.
