I'd probably end up paying the NFA tax and putting a full size stock on it.
That would be rather silly since you can pick up an 870 for less than that, and have money left over to mod it.

Speaking of mods, them's some snazzy looking new duds you're wearing there Chimp. Suits you.
Thanks, NT2C. I was going to mention it earlier, but I didn't say anything until it was official.

Then again, my name in bright red letters kind of said it for me.

As for the Tac-14, that's true. I've already got a full sized 870, but I have been wanting one of the Tac-14s for awhile. Especially since I found out there's a 20 gauge model now.

I thought the tac-14 was a semi-auto model. Oh well, gun-nut problems..

That's the Tac-13 you're thinking of, MP.

The Tac-14 is the pump action model.

The Tac-13 is right around 900 bucks, MP. I've only seen one in the wild and I think it was close to about 800-ish.

But there's a version made by Black Aces Tactical that's priced around 450-ish. It's based off the older Remington 1100 receiver, though. The Tac-13 is based off the newer V3 receiver Remington brought out a few years back.

The Black Aces version is a little finicky with certain ammo(usually birdshot and lower velocity 12 gauge ammo), but they come right out and admit it in their sales ads online.

I know. I think people can't decide which part of their body they want to blow off first; non-dominant hand holding the rifle, the left nipple or just going for a gut shot.

I haven't heard much of the .40 cal models, but I know the 9mm versions were the top sellers at most gun shops out here.

Prior to picking up that RIA 1911 I had, I strongly considered getting a 9mm one with a diamond plate style texture on the slide. If I'd have had the extra cash, I'd have bought both.

I'd watch for sales on the 2022 on the interwebs. Those things were like $299, I think, now and again. I wanna say with night sights

Positive review of the Savage .22 rifle. Says he likes it better than a 10/22. Comes with their rotary mag. But I think the Butler Creek one is different - maybe. Have not looked it up.

But if you're looking for aftermarket parts. You're probably not gonna find any. This last part just mho. I like Savage rifles a lot.

I have a couple of Nikon scopes, and they have been good kit....

Nikon Corporation to Withdraw from Riflescope Business

Last Month, many rumors began to surface regarding the Nikon withdrawal from the riflescope business. Claims state that once the current inventory of Nikon riflescope stock is gone, they will not manufacture replacement inventory.

According to numerous reports from retailers and vendors in the American firearms industry, Nikon will be withdrawing from the riflescope business. Nikon purportedly will continue to produce other products from its Sport Optics line including rangefinders, binoculars and spotting scopes.

I like Nikon too. I assume this is political?

Per the article, they haven't been making enough money on riflescopes. I can actually believe that, to be honest.

I think precision machining and manufacturing has gotten to the point where someone can put out 90% of the product quality for 50% of the cost, which is probably putting a squeeze on midrange manufacturers.

Combine that with Nikon having a lot of other product lines on their plate, and it's probably just not really worth trying to stay in the market.

So in the event of a fire. To save your guns in the safe, don't allow the firemen to use water. ( or run into the smoldering ruins of your home to extract the guns before they rust).

Just another reason to double-up and have a physically separated cache, yea? ;)

Kooky....and pricey.

Recoil - Henry Adds Non-NFA Lever Action Axe .410

The latest non-NFA firearm to hit the market is an unlikely one, the Henry Lever Action AXE .410. Built around the same side gate loading receiver the recently released side gate lever-action rifles.

A 15.14-inch barrel threaded for chokes keeps the overall length of the Lever Action Axe. 410 to just over 26 inches by 0.4 of an inch. The Lever Action Axe should be an interesting option for those looking for an option for pest control but have space constraints.

Huh...a $1k stockless .410. I honestly can't think of a single reason to buy it over almost any other type of shotgun. Unless it can shoot .45 long colt, maybe?

I'm not a fan of .410, outside of people deliberately handicapping themselves at skeet ranges for the challenge.

I'd like to see someone come out with a Shockwave style double barrel shotgun.

Maybe we'll see that at SHOT Show next year.

Why just a double, when you can have a triple. :awesome:
