No walking today as I pressure washed the farmyard. That's a workout of sorts in itself.

Weight holding steady at 230#. Still riding 5 days/week. Got 17 km in today and 8 km in yesterday.

Last week was a total of 60 km with 20 km on Saturday. I'm very happy to have found something that has stuck.

I usually ride about 2 miles on my bike every day and I walk/run a little bit to. Also play some Basketball.

Week 4, Day 1 of bicycling:

Last week got in 75+ km. This week should be 90 km if all goes well. Got 10 km in today at an easy pace. Weight loss to-date, 2 pounds (~1 kg).

Bought a medicine ball... Hate the medicine ball. Although my weight has stayed the same, Im riding my bike 3x's a week (~60 mi) and my push-ups have increased from 27 in 1 min to 56. Sit-ups (thanks to the medicine ball and a decline bench) have increased from 20 to 36 in 1 min over the last month. Yay!

Yesterday was full range of motion bodyweight exercises + 20lb plate carrier. Included hindu push-ups, hindu squats, walking lunges, TRX rows, bear crawls, and added kettlebell swings and overhead presses.

Today was supposed to be a rest day but I got bored and did 10 miles on the bike. We have a very nice trail here that has around 120ft inclines every 1/2-3/4 mile and it's pretty killer.
BOB also used for backpacking

Did 56 pushups in one min, 42 sit-ups in one minute, ran 1.5 mi in 15:18 (1st mile was 7 min, damn legs).

Came home, Hydroxycut hadn't worn off yet, rode 25.6 miles in 1hr 27min. (Its relatively flat here in AZ...although I should get some credit for the fact that is was already 98F at 7:30 am).

14 miles in 54 min...in the rain! That was the first time I've ridden the street bike in the rain. It was less scary than I thought, but the wind SUCKED!

23.2 km (14.4 miles) today. Used an MP3 player to help with cadence and speed picked up.

Not competing, just a weird coincidence.

14 miles is about the right distance for me time wise. If I don't have to go into work then the longer rides are possible if I start early enough or the will heat build up too fast.

Music really helps me. My playlist is always evolving as I try to match the cadence of the music to sections of my routes. Now I have to do the same thing for my run...I hate running...so do my legs.

If I have the right music I can ride much faster and farther than riding without. Play around with your MP3 and see if it works for you.

I think I gained about ½-1 kph with the tunes and I feel like I did a short day instead of a medium. Playlist is about 80 or 160 bpm.

Nice. Im going to run with a metronome tomorrow to try to figure out what 170 steps per minute feels like.

On a lighter note, Physical therapist said: "Well, one leg is shorter than the other. You are slightly bowlegged. You run flat footed and the right side of your pelvis is slightly tilted forward."
Me: "So...Im not a naturally gifted runner?"
PT: <blank stare>
Me: "So when can I run 5 miles."
PT: "Honestly?"
Me: "Um hmm."
PT: "You shouldn't be running...like ever. It makes me cry inside when I watch you run."
Me: "Seriously?"
PT: <blank stare>
Me: "Uh..."
PT: "Don't worry, I've seen worse. Of course they were recovering from car accidents."
Me: "Dude? Seriously?"
PT: "Actually they weren't as bad."
Me: "DUDE!"

My PT is actually very good (highly recommended) and primarily works with endurance athletes, which I apparently am not. I am pretty sure that was his way of breaking me down to actually listen to him. It worked.

I'll probably start a new thread if anyone is interested regarding my adventures with Exertional Compartment Syndrome...but keeping with this thread:

Evening Workout: 200 push-ups (8 sets total added up to that), 100 sit-ups...rolled my calves on a foam roll, several other leg stretches.
