Had my $20 REI bonus card, so I picked up a set of nylon pack utensils (spatula & spoon) for a couple bucks, and an Eton FRX-1 hand crank radio for $15 (apparently the bright green models are on clearance, half the normal price)

ZT301 Folder. I actually owned one of these but sold it a year ago and more or less regretted it. These seem hard to get a hold of these days, I was on mailing lists for "back in stock" notifications on several websites. Finally landed one.
Not much of a BOB item so much as an EDC item to me. Either way, no buyers remorse.

Went to the gun show and picked up a used us military 5gal? Jerry can style water jug for $15. Pretty rough looking on the outside... But pristine on the inside. Built like a tank. Also 100 15" plunking targets/$10. Also, 4 pencil sharpeners for $4.49 from staples.
All the best!

This Stanley cook set:
http://www.amazon.com/Stanley-Adventure ... B005188T90" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
I traded a couple of highcap Glock mags for a used, Bear compound bow.
A couple of arrows and a trigger release for said bow.
Now I have to learn to shoot a bow.

Picked up a couple of gallons of denatured alcohol with a Home Depot gift card. Enough to keep my kerosene stoves primed indefinitely, and my alcohol stoves running for a few weeks. I lucked out and scored 50 rds of 00 buckshot from midway. (I signed up for email notification and ordered within 10 minutes of getting the email. That's the way it works for now I guess :/
Here is a pic of the water container I got last weekend!

I noticed something on the clearance rack at Walmart and had to get them. 2 4-packs of Heet, $2.25 each. Now I have fuel for the upcoming hiking seasons. (I really like my alcohol stoves)

Hmm..Coleman water purification tabs, extra alum tent pegs , Stainless cup for my Nalgene to nestle in, fresh canned fruit and food to rotate out in the GHB. Next purchase probably either a pump water filtration setup or a couple of lifestraws. Any input on these? http://www.firearmsprostore.com/frontie ... tical.aspx

Haven't been here in awhile and since then I have purchased a Leatherman Wave Black Oxide Multi-tool, 200 rounds of .40S&W FMJ Winchestor White Box, and a Brand New IWI/Magnum Research Baby Eagle II Fullsize Polymer (Same manufacturers as the Desert Eagle but completely different design).
These things are all for my Bug Out Bag.

Re: What have you bought lately? (Bug Out Version)
Yeah, I "tactically acquired" my issued sleeping mat when I EOS'd. Not sure why, because I HATE those damned things. The girlfriend and I went camping, me with my GI pad and her with a Thermarest (neither of us had ever used a Thermarest before). Safe to say she was much more comfortable and warmer to boot. I kept the GI pad for sentimental value (bad memories), but got a Thermarest for myself. I'd advise you to do the same.hutchie wrote:2 Roll matts (military grade not cheap ones)
Where are you going that tap water is undrinkable? I don't know much about Bobble water bottles other than the college kids seem to love them, and that they are NOT suitable for filtering anything but tap water. If you're planning to hike or camp, get an actual water filter: Katadyn, Sawyer etc.hutchie wrote:2 Bobble waterbottles with charcoal filters in neck to make tap water drinkable
"I ask gentlemen, sir, what means this martial array, if its purpose be not to force us to submission? ... Has Great Britain any enemy in this quarter of the world to call for all this accumulation of navies and armies? No, sir, she has none. They are meant for us: they can be meant for no other."
