Where are the walking dead? They are the main focus of the show. And I'm not talking about the Zombies.

So sad to see Dale die. He annoyed me at first, but he won me over in the end. His impassioned defense of humanity and all that is right was awesome (both by the character and the actor). My favorite line he had:
If we kill him, what makes us different from the people we are so scared of?
Killing the kid was always a stupid idea. Use him for Intel. Use him for labor. But killing him just because he fell into the wrong group? What separates the good groups from the bad? Men from animals? Its using our minds and doing whats right. That doesn't change apocalypse or not.

As for Dale, he is dead, fuck'em *spits*. For once I am agreeing with Shane and I feel dirty.

Didn't see that coming and Dale was my favorite character.
Funny how responsible people that wouldn't let their kid walk to school alone during normal times, let him run amok during the zombie invasion.

What do you mean by the actor as well? Is he a humanitarian or something? I couldn't find anything on wikipedia.

The fact you can't trust him or know his true intentions. Anyone would say anything to get out of being killed. Don't forget that he was shooting at them when they met. He said that he doesn't no where the other group's camp is, something about moving around. I call bullshit, the guy grew up in the area and probably knows all the places they bed down at.

ETA: He was also trying take Carl away from his parents when he was lying to Carl about being safer with his group.

I thought this was a pretty damn powerful episode.
Andrea standing up to Shane?
Darryl stepping up, almost like a partner to Rick?
Carol re-asserting herself with the group?
Herschel and Glenn making nice?
Carl wandering off and fucking shit up - having, a dark, morbid fascination with stuff - showing the effects of psychological trauma? Just like kids in real life?

All solid stuff, and in keeping with the spirit of the comic, IMO.

Dale was/is a great character, and Jeffery Demunn did a fantastic job with him- true to the book, and lively onscreen.

And about thirty minutes after it was over, I realized that if I do get to go back and work on Season 3, Dale won't be there. Not Demunn, but Dale. And that made me sad all over again. What an awesome dude.

SeerSavant, Sorry... I am really pissed. Many have already mentioned Carl's unguided freedom, and didn't Shane just tell him not to try to get himself killed, ...well he got Dale killed. Maybe Shane planned it this way... Yeah, dumb way to get himself killed, but who was on watch??? Damn that Andrea, where was her tanning with a rifle ass at... Oh yeah, siding with Dale... who was on watch??? Please let Darryl ascend to the throne of power... Get the other groups location from the kid, and scout them. I would not kill the guy, but not let him free-to-go either. Would sooner shot Lori and Carl. Not sure which on first... Lori is annoying as hell, but still female :p but the boy, omg he is a pest. And yeah T-dog, we now know "T" stands for token. Has not done anything to unnerve me, but has not DONE anything... If I was Rick, I would have dropped Shane when he took my gun from my holster. I would have justified it because I would not have known if it was to be used on me and the stranger, or just the stranger.

The "Walking Dead" is the cast of survivors, and I tuned in for zombies...

PLEASE DEAR GOD deliver a better zombie show...

I already miss Dale.

I told the wife they should have left him on that fence..the screams/ blood would have attracted the walkers and then Rick, Hershel, and Glenn could get away mo easier..she said I was being "Shane-ish"

The way Carl was in this episode maybe he should go with the other group...

It looked like the pistol from Daryl's bike was a 1911, but the pistol Rick hands him, seems more like a beretta, only saw it for an instant... Waitasec...

Image

Is that a browning hi power???

Carl killing shane...
It would fit... But they've veered so many directions from the graphic novels, you can pretty much separate them into two separate entities....

Oh well... At the very least, this means that the next two episodes, hell, next season could be wildly different from the graphic novel (which isn't a bad thing, it'd be nice to watch without the deja vu moments.)

Personally, I'm very curious about how the Governor's storyline, as well as Michonne's is going to play out...

Sure looked like a Hi-power that Carl took outta Daryl's saddlebags and fumbled in the swamp. If its recovered in a future episode, well, tonight's losses wouldn't be so catastrophic...

Um what was up with the Stealth Zombie? No growns or nothing? Why wasn't Dale looking around if he saw the spooky Moooving cow that the Zed just had for dinner? Wanted to beat many of the Characters over the head this one, but I enjoyed it.

A wise man said "this group is broken"

And really the only thing that happened in this entire episode, Dale got killed.

Shane is still plotting Ricks over throw but is no closer

Glenn has still not been told to man up

T Dog still didn't say anything

Lori still has not figured out she is a mother and to parent her son

Rick still can't make decisions

The kid is still not dealt with, one way or another

This episode was one big waste of time really. A long way to say nothing much happened until we kill off a main character. While I liked Dale, I honestly think his humanitarian thing went over board this episode. He was in the only person who didn't want to kill the kid camp but had to try and force this opinion on everyone else. Sorry but harsh reality civilization is over.

While I don't argue the kid deserves it because he shot at them, I do argue he deserves it because he was stupid enough to tell them he knew where they were located. I don't blame him for shooting while with the other group, Rick just shot two of their group, morally the kid was in the right to shoot at them. I don't say they should have left the kid, they have now learned there is a group of 30 people who like to rape women about. Intel from the kid has given them valuable info. Where I do blame the kid is he was about to be let go, and was stupid enough to say he knew where they were. At this point he became a threat and liability. Keeping him as a prisoner is not wise, letting him join after being tortured and almost executed, again not wise. Only thing left is to kill him really for the groups safety.

But really this episode did little in the way of advancing things. It was a big stall.Guess they didn't feel like giving us a clip show remembering fond times yet so just gave us an episode of not much happening.

As for Dale's death, why haven't they set up a better perimeter guard yet? They know there is a possibly hostile group of 30 people near by, zombies roaming about, and who knows what else. But hey lets just live in tents, wander around alone, let the kids run around as they wish, don't use walkies, and hide the guns in a bag in the RV instead of keeping guns on everyone at all times.

LOL, Darryl is right "This group is broken" or maybe it was never functional. Seems to me they have been pretty dumb the entire time.
