Not a simulation, a propaganda toy.
It says I'd need to prepare for nuclear winter from a single kiloton range detonation a hundred miles away.
I doesn't have the AFB 12 miles away from me in its target list, just population centers.
It gives three results and none of them are "you'll probably be ok", even though millions of folks alive today were exposed to atmospheric nuclear ordinance tests at the "but would you really want to live/nuclear winter" range, many of them repeatedly.

A simulator that allowed for input of realistic scenarios, offered useful data on weapons that might actually be used at a variety of potential elevations and gave plausible fallout predictions based on ordinance output data, prevailing weather patterns and the altitude of detonation... that would be useful and interesting. This here is just annoying disinformation.

Chill dude, chill. The OP said it was "awesome".....not a simulation.

Looks like my current house is good, however, my new house will be vaporized. Good selling point for my old house? "Hey Mr. and Mrs. Buyer, you can sleep soundly knowing that a major nuclear strike won't even affect this area, because the population is too small!"

Alive! but do you want to be?

You live in the middle of no where or are lucky. The planet isnt looking good though. Get ready for some great skiing in the incoming nuclear winter!

Middle of nowhere! We already have a ski resort here. I live in the heart of the Shenandoah Valley, MT's every way you look. I can be deep in the woods with a quick 15 minute drive. A country boy can survive 8-)

That simulator leaves a lot to be desired. For example I live less than an hour from a major military base, less than an hour and a half from Ft. Bragg and it says I'll be just fine. I need to move away from the coast, I'm sick of hurricanes and I hope it never happens but if nukes or similar weapons start flying the whole East coast is screwed.

I survive the 15 megaton bomb, but I escape with cancer.

FFFFFFFF-.

According to the map, if I lived a just few hundred yards further north, I'd survive with no cancer, burns, etc.
Keep calm and carry on.

I survive almost anything if it hits Miami. If it hits Ft. Lauderdale I get the whole you have third degree burns or die within the week from radiation poisoning. Except the dinosaur meteor. I don't think anyone survives that.

I wonder if Camp Pendleton, Ca is a big enough base for a nuke.

I would sort of expect every square inch from San Diego to L.A. to be fried in a nuclear attack, but that's just me.

Chicago is toast! HAHAHAHAHA

But I hear voices, I hear voices singing (and you have to be old to remember the lyrics)

Hell yeah, "we can rebuild him, we have the technology."

So the possible outcomes are "HA HA, you die" or "you live in the middle of nowhere, sucks to be you" On a nother note I'm fine as long as its not 50 megatons or more.

"You're fine, But would you really want to survive in a world where Glenn Beck was right about something?"
That's my current location,
"You're fine, So you probably live in some God forsaken place like north dakota or something."
For where I'm moving to.

That thing pics shit for targets. There is a Nuclear power plant 8 miles away from my house. Nuclear power plants are big juicy targets and their locations are well known. The maps states that I'd be as safe as living in South Dakota.
It stops being funny when it starts being you.

I could apparently survive a Tsar Bomba. Intriguing. Maybe that's why there are so many ex spooks and spies in my AO.
