Mock Buck Out Scouting

Post by Slugg » Fri Dec 04, 2015 1:15 pm

After this weekend I will have 6 days off in a row and I am going to scout out a few camping sites for a possible mock bugout. I'm going to be doing 3 days and 2 nights tent camping with my son and seeing which one will work for us. I'll keep you guys posted once I return from it and let you know what I came up with.

lol. He's been busy. I met up with him for Christmas, and I completely forgot to ask about this. I'll give him a nudge and see if he can give us an update.

I survived, there is another place we are hiking tonight. Once I get home from that I'll work on this.

Our hiking was cancelled due too it being to cold. Overall I have been trying to find a place to do our mock bugout where it isn't packed with people on vacation. Most of the people I talked to said the places are empty due to hunting and the weather, but once hunting ends it gets busy. So I will continue looking and have something by spring.

One place I am thinking of for the mock bugout is Dauset trails. Here is a link to their camping info. The thing I like about this place is that it has animals native to georgia in a zoo like environment to learn about wildlife. There is also a hiking trail.

On a subject of events for the Mock Bugout. I came across a physical security group willing to have some lock picking classes. How to build a lock pick kit from raw materials. Sell practice locks and lockpick

I'm thinking of doing it in August of this year. That way it's before DragonCon.
