Police.uk - personalised crime map

Post by Big and Daft » Tue Feb 01, 2011 5:56 pm

My Dad has just told me about this website POLICE.UK. New today, but I've heard nothing about it on the news.
Type in your postcode and it give you details of crimes reported in your area - gives you an idea of what type of area you live in and what you need to be on the look out for. Burglary and antisocial behaviour are the top crimes in my area. ASB isn't much of a shock, as its not a very nice area, the burglary aspect is new to me though.

Thought it might come in handy.

Sorry but its crappy. Poorly implemented and it fell over within 30mins of launching.

Postcodes with less than 12 reported crimes don't appear and the stats are way out.

Not true! We have no reported crimes but our postcode works! Live in the middle of nowhere.

Sorry, that should have read...

For areas that have less that 12 crimes reported, the results are obscured to protect privacy.
