Summer

Post by sheddi » Sat May 22, 2010 5:13 pm

You might not have noticed, but it's almost June and summer seems to have put in an appearance. Wunderground reckons it was in the high twenties Celsius here today, and it felt like it.

So, anyway, this is a reminder that all those things you put in your kits back in November for the winter might not be entirely appropriate now. Woolly jumpers, extra blankets, chocolate? Not such a good idea. Water, biscuits, floppy hats and sunscreen? Better!

(Mrs Sheddi reckons chocolate is "always essential", but she might change her mind when it oozes out of the packet in the back of the car and soaks into the carpet ...)

(Mrs Sheddi is also keen to point out that, according to the weather records, it's snowed in every month of the year and there's a small chance of a freak blizzard in August. I counter this argument by saying that a heatwave is far more likely.)

Yeah I think a heatwave is probably more likely as well. Already whipped out my four season sleeping bag and replaced it with a sock.
