To all who shall see these presents, greetings.

A regular HF net might be a bridge too far; we're all busy etc etc etc., but how about we try to meet on the air just once and see what happens?

I propose:

We shoot for a Sunday on a non-holiday, non-(major) contest weekend. Possibly March 1st.

-We meet at 1600 east coast time; it will be 1300 pacific and leave enough time for folks to get home from church, brunch etc.

-We meet on 20 meters from 1600-1630 and 40 meters from 1630-1700 to maximize the chance of getting local, regional and nationwide coverage.

-We use two net control stations, one each east and west of the Mississippi. Once check-ins are complete, stations will be allowed to call other checked in stations to test their comms.

I realize there are A LOT of Techs on ZS and that they will not be able to check in, but that doesn't mean that chapters or subgroups can't meet on 10/11/2 meters etc and general class or above report their check in for them.

I'm going to repeat my proposal via PM to those who've showed interest in the past in case this thread goes by unnoticed.

If I have my rig by then, count me in. I passed my General exam last month and I'm in the final stage of choosing an allmode multi band HF rig.

I'm a new sign-up and I would be up for an HF contact/net. I hold a General license and have an older Kenwood HF rig.

Well, AlphaKilo47, it might be you and me, but we'll give it a try. Can you work 40 and 20?

Yes sir, I can work both 20 and 40. My rig is an older "hybrid" (tubes and solid state) and requires a few minutes of "tune up" when I change bands.
