Bio: Well I live in the middle east right now working. Im home about every 6 months of a couple of weeks. When I am home I try and make up for everything Ive been missing. So if friends and fam. that want to spend anytime with me, they have to come find me out camping with my dog somewhere. I used to build 4x4s in my shop (roll cages, bumpers, custom susp.,axles swaps) and was doing pretty well. so I decided I needed to get some cash fast and build a bigger shop. That brought me into the world of overseas contracting and ive been doing it for about 2.5 years. I'm working on a zombie tattoo leg sleave and have 3 big peaces of it done. I am trying to learn how to cook in a dutch oven while I'm over here to keep busy and do manage to find the time once and a while to pitch a tent in the desert. I'd like to get to know you guys and learn as much as I can. This is a great site and really glad I found it. ImageImage

Yes, yes a Canadian. No need to be afraid, we don't bite. Much.

I know I'm a long, long way from most, if not all of you but 005 looked like it was the closest group and I figured it would be nice to join up.

Anyhow, I'm a married father of several kids and while I've been into hunting and the outdoors most of my life (thanks Dad!) I'm much newer to prepping in general. More or less I'm still in the planning stages as we're in the middle of a move from Alberta to BC so most of my life is in a storage unit at the moment but I have experience with wild game processing, sausage and jerky making and some gardening. Looking to expand those skills and learn some new ones!

Been thinking about prepping and planning for years now and finally pulled the trigger and starting to get stuff together. What pushed me over the edge was becoming a husband and a father. Knowing that its my responsibility to take care of my family no matter what the circumstances put a thorn in my side to get my crap in order. I figure I like planning things, owning more guns and gear is always cool and so far my wife hasn't said no. I have a crap ton of skills including medical training, mechanical, rescue, survival and selfreliance might as well put them to good use. 4 years ago we bought a 5 acre spot out in the woods that with a little work and more money then I have right now it can be off grid.

Interests: Emergency preparedness, survival skills, weapons, video games, reading, writing, horses...all animals. Zombies.

Bio: Oh boy. I've been a zombie person for years now. I'm big on survival stuff, and emergency preparedness, that sort of thing. I'm a college student at Whatcom Community College, dual majoring in Criminal Justice and Emergency Management. I work with a lot of local law enforcement agencies, as well as the local search and rescue group. I'm also an avid horseback rider and writer. Uh, I've got a dog named Liberty, a cat named Snickers and two goldfish named Bender and Fry. I used to have a Leela but she passed on...anyway...

I guess, for me, its not just zombies. Its being ready for any disaster. I work at St. Joseph Hospital, and like I said majoring in two divisions of potential emergency responders...my life sort of revolves around what if scenarios and potential disasters. And I love it.

Hey guys, it looks like I'm not the only person who joined right after watching you guys on History channel, huh?

Name: Kat

Bio: I'm just some spoiled kid in Snohomish County. Seriously. It's kind of pitiful. I've read the occational post-apocalypse novel, and seen the occational post-apocalypse TV series. I'm here because A: I'm superstitious and paranoid enough to think there's a chance that an actual zombie apocolypse might be possible, and B: Supervolcanoes. :gonk: Ohgod.

Interests: drawing, (not really well, but that fellow in my avatar was for a school project) video games, (Mario, Link, Pokemon, and the like) music, (anyone looking to start a zombie awareness band? I'll play trumpet, drums, or piano :D ) and other stuff that I can't think of right now.

I'm currently going to community college and trying (not very hard) not to waste my life.

Interests: Anything to do with guns or cars pretty much. Want to get into survival prepping but can't stop spending my money on gun & ammo.
Family: Wife, Jerusha (ja-roo-sha) 2 year old Son Taylor, and 3 month old daughter Chloe
Hometown: Granite Falls in NE Snohomish County, now live in Belfair just south of Bremerton

About me:
Most is above. I'm a veteran with 7 years active duty. 23 months in Iraq between 2004 and 2006. Got medically discharged in Oct 2008 with 60% disability rating and am now 1 quarter away from a bachelor's degree in Business Admin from the UW Tacoma campus. Been shooting guns since I was 5 years old but just started actively collecting about a year ago. Own 16 currently and the stable rotates often. In my spare time I run a small company online that I bought out earlier this year. I also race 1/10 scale RC cars every Friday and sometimes Saturday in Tacoma. I'm 6'4 300lbs and a lot nicer than I look and appear most times. Been lurking here for awhile and finally ran out of stuff to post on SGN so figured I'd be more active over here. I'm excited to meet a new group of people and hopefully learn things along the way!

Greetings!
After meeting members of ZSC-005 at last weekend's ZomBcon, we discovered that we had finally found a counter-zombie group worth joining.

Name: Alexsander
Age: Forty-something
Geographic base: Tacoma-ish

I am a former USAF Flight Medic (X4N071), served in OEF and OIF, prior civilian corrections officer, firefighter, and medic. USAF pistol expert, with a weekly range day to keep skills up.
Currently, serving as chief of new product development for the nation's largest private mint.

I am also an active local political cartoonist, and some may have seen my work under the name "Alexander" published by the (now-defunct) Loompanics Press of Port Townsend.
We also publish a twice-weekly zombie apocalypse webcomic that takes place in the "Greater Cascadia Quarantine Zone", which will shortly be centered in the greater Tacoma metro area.

My lovely spouse will introduce herself seperately, but some of you might remember her from selling the Zombie Hunter challenge coins at zomBcon...

Well this site seems to have some good info, and some like minded people on board. A little trickier than other forums to post, but I finally made it. 21 years in the Army, and now retired and looking for a job close to Olympia. I also post on opencarry.org, and waguns.org also as golddigger14s. We are having a fun shoot in Capitol Forest November 5th 10 am to ?. If you don't know how to get there, I will be at the flag pole at 9am at Cabelas to car pool or lead you there. (Don't forget Discovery Pass). Bring evil pumpkins! Also Hornady has new Zombie ammo, serious check their web site. Good luck getting some though, sold out before it hit the shelves. For the location:
http://waguns.org/viewtopic.php?f=43&t=8

I also deal with long term food on the side, PM me for ZSC-005/October/November specials. nwfood.shelfreliance.com

Age: 50
Single, two kids, Lacey area.

Name: Chy, Cheryce, and occasionally "HEY!"
Last Name: Not Mausheim - that is a writer's pen. Ask in person, I'll give you the real deal.

Age: pre-maturely Old. Don't try whining for sympathy, I will spend 20 minutes listing of my previous re-attatchments and re-builds in a dry flat voice and then ask if you want to go hiking next week-end. "Ah am Frankenstieny!" It's okay, I'm slow, you'll do fine.

Location: Puyallup Rez, 2 blocks off Crackpipe Av & Driveby St., 3 blocks from BoomCity.

occupation: ghost writer, free-lance editor, and series concept design. No, I won't talk about what I've worked on, in fact if I'm talking about it - assume I didn't work on it. Occasional free-lance news stringer.

Previous work: hmmmm. I like Hemmingway, let's leave it at that.

Wife of Jinxmedic.

I cook almost everything from scratch, spin, and tend to spend way too much time and energy solving other people's problems. Sure you can drop by and we'll talk........

Friends know that I am a rude, impatient person who has lost the higher social graces - It's all or nothing - we either instantly bond or you hate me.

Sooo, this says Pacific Northwest....which I'm in.......

Image

Name: Tohrture will do (sometimes "you BITCH" but it gives me the giggles  )

Hometown: Sacramento CA

Interests in no particular order: Emergency/Survival Prep, BOOKS, (Anit-eReaders) movies, Swamp People, my critters, family and friends, guns and knives (even though I don't know much about them), my job. Most things that don't result in broken bones......and a few that do. My goal is to somehow combine extreme couponing with survival prep ad have a store in my own garage. When I get a garage. :D

Bio: I'm a workaholic (Cosmetologist), self proclaimed geek that reads wayyyyy too much with an incredibly active imagination. My interest in Emergency Prep started over 10 yrs ago, but became more prevalent with the concious realization of what happened in the aftermath of Katrina. Then some time later the books "One Second After" and "Patriots" were dropped in my lap and scared the living $h*t outta me. I can't stand people who create their own drama and wonder why their lives are shit. Duh d*ckhole, why do u think?

I come from a line of military family... Grandfather- Navy, Uncle- Army, Cousins- Air Force, Ex Husband- Navy. My father was a civillian contractor/purple suiter for the DoD and another uncle worked for Lockheed Martin/Skunkworks....and I'm proud of all of them.

Single/0 Kids proud mommy to 6 cats (I rescued a pregnant mommy) 1 goofy pitt bull. Warped sense of humor, ornery, opinionated, bad attitude lol, legend in my own mind, awesome cook, literate, 100% American. If there is anything you seriously wish to know, ask me.

Other than that, glad to be here and maybe make some new friends, learn a few things.
