This may sound gross but in my animal traps rubbermaid tote i have a dozen or so mouse traps, I personally would eat them if i caught them, ive seen other shows were people in other countries do atleast.

But as far as food preps go i think its better to be proactive than have to stomp em out later. All my dried food has bee portioned out and double sealed in vaccum bags [ generic food saver]. Then labeled and place in totes that have been cleaned with bleach and sealed with 2 layers of duct tape when full. No food no bugs. Also everytime ive moved into a new home ive went arount the outside and sprayed expanding foam in any hole i could find. Then i take metal screening and cover up the plumbing exhausts, and rescreen the windows. Worth every second of the time and money

Very cool topic though one most don't want to think about as it is sort of creepy, thanks.

I wanted to bring up one of the best PAW fiction books I have ever read, called Earth Abides by George R. Stewart

The reason I mention this book is it discusses the rapid booms of pest animals after the collapse of human civilization due to a virus. How suddenly there are great blooms of rats, then they are gone, sudden blooms of ants then gone, etc

This is something to consider for various PAW situations. There may be really nothing you can do to stop many infestations as suddenly the populations are able to breed without trouble of being kept in check by exterminators and when they are able to feed upon left over food stores of humans who are no long there. Many of these blooms in pest population can spring blooms of another animal that feeds upon that one, or also remember trigger disease outbreaks.

Eventually these blooms in populations will self regulate finding a balance, but the sudden change in the system by the down fall of humans will greatly impact all other life with great rises and falls in populations for awhile.

Here I have some Pest prevention and control tips:
1. Seal any openings around your home.
2. Seal breaks and holes around windows and entryways.
3. Look at window and entryway screens for tears and openings.
4. Introduce a smokestack top.
5. Overview the conditions around your home.
I hope it will work.
