Any need or interest in setting up a regular meeting every couple months in Toronto? Ideas for locations?

We have a group of about 10 students that would like to meet with us in Toronto. Now we just need a location.

Requirements: Indoors with space to accompany a decent number of people, quiet-ish.

Bonuses: Food, Drink, Fun, Cheap, Good.

Added: To make this work for the Niagara people, it'll likley have to be a weekend.

How about Snakes and Lattes? It's a coffee shop where you play board games. $5 Cover though.

Does it have space to put 15-20 people at a table where converstaion can be easily sustained? I dislike the concept of a cover for the meeting, but $5 is low enough that it should not be a serious financial burden, and if it legitmately were, i'd fork out of my own pocket for someone (not that I have extra cash)

I was in last nightand asked the server what the largest group he had seen in, he said 27. He asked if we wanted that large of a group to give as much notice as possible (more than a week would be nice). Theres room for us, it's just a matter of reserving enough tables. Can I ask what university the students are from?

hi, I'm the person from toronto with the 10 friends who want to join. I was thinking we could go to "Shoeless joe's" (depending on how large the group is) I've gone there before with friends and there was about 10 of us and only 2 people ordered something and the staff was cool with it. however, I don't know if that's still gonna be the case for 20 plus people, the "Snakes and Latters" place also sounds good to me :) and in terms of time any weekend after the january 30th is good for me and my friends

The people form niagara would all be ordering food, and it liiks like 5 or 6 of us will be going, so that's no issue. I like the idea of shoeless Joe's more than Snakes And Latte's just because of the cover charge.

Shoeless Joe's is fine by me. I've yet to make it down to a Niagara meeting yet, so I'm not sure how you guys do things. I'm free most weekends, pick a date and I'll be there.

ok, perfect, shoeless joe's it is then. march 10th or february 4th both sound good, and most of my friends who want to join should be able to make it to either date.

Either date works for me too.

Sourena, if you're going to participate in the forums, please swing by the introductions thread and say hello, let people know why you're here.

Hi guys,
I'll be traveling down with Horatio for the first Tdot meet up, and I can't wait to meet the folks from my old stomping grounds.

I will be there for the Toronto meeting, but will not be able to make the hamilton meeting due to a change in my work hours :(

Just as an aside, weekend meetings work far better for me than weeknights.

cheers
