Join us for a Winter BOB Hike: Bring your BOB to practice carrying it.

Third try's a charm? I shouldn't have any conflicts with on call for work etc this time.

We will meet at 2 pm and depart at 2:10 pm. There is supposed to be a parking garage and street parking available on near trail head. We will debrief after. If you can't hike and want to meet up after then follow on the ZS page on FB for updates. I will keep it posted there our expected time of arrival and also where we end up going.

Great Allegheny Passage Trail-head Parking: McKeesport, PA, 100 5th Avenue, McKeesport, PA 15132

McKeesport can be easily reached from the Homestead, Duquesne, and West Mifflin areas via PA 837.

From the PA Turnpike
Take the Monroeville/Pittsburgh Exit #57.
From the toll booth, turn towards Monroeville and Business Rt 22 W. Immediately get in LEFT lane, then after 1 block, Turn LEFT onto Rt 48. Continue on Rt 48 for several miles. Turn RIGHT onto Rt. 148, Walnut Street in McKeesport, watch for blue "Bike Trail" signs for the trailhead parking lots on the "LooP" connecting trail to the GAP, or continue past these first two sets of Bike Trail signs to turn left at the third Bike Trail sign at 9th Street or on to the fourth Bike Trail sign at Lysle Blvd. After either of these last two left turns, continue to follow the blue Bike Trail signs to the McKeesport Trailhead.

Yes!!! We are NOT moving it again! I am NOT on call! At the moment the weather forecast is 27 degrees F and only 10% chance of precip, partly cloudy. I'm ready to get out and about. Bundle up. Bring your dog, your kid, your friends, you Bug out Bag or mini-Bug out bag.... or even just your camera. We will do several of these hikes over the course of the year.

Hey there campers... just looked at the weather... there's no hiking.. hunker down in your house again and blog about what crap is on the boob tube!!! I'll be rescheduling again!!

It's really sad when winter sucks so much that you can't even get out to have a winter hike that's supposed to be challenging... but not THIS challenging... good grief!!
