Nutella..

Post by Medic4You » Wed Jan 27, 2010 7:39 pm

Okay, so I am pretty sure almost half of you guys like peanut butter, but does anyone like Nutella?

Nutella is a hazelnut-based sweet spread, almost like peanut butter or butter. It tastes good on bread and crackers.

Do you like it?
Why or why not?

I like it in small quantities. The taste is too rich for me to use it like I would peanut butter.

Well I don't spread too much either. I only use it a little because I don't want to be sick anyways.

Far too rich for my liking. I prefer peanut butter or apple butter :)

Yeah, a little definitely goes a long way. I don't know anyone who eats it like they show in the ads, where it's slathered all over everything. Gag! I have a friend who works in a restaurant supply market where they sell giant-size jars of it. She brought one home over a year ago and it's still more than half full. :D

I actually like it with peanut butter. I think they go together pretty well. Peanut butter, a bit of nutella and some apple jelly makes a tasty variation on PB&J. My friend bakes a lot and has used it in or on all sorts of things - cupcakes, cookies, muffins, donuts, cheesecake, cream puffs and other stuff.

Peanut butter < Nutella
Nutella for president.
Nutella for everything.

ETA: Nutella is better than cake, pie, or brownies too. You know why? I've iced a cake with Nutella and it was better than cake alone. Pie? Who eats pie anyway. Brownies? Try Nutella swirled into brownie batter instead of fudge. Nutella makes everything better.

Nutella already has hazelnuts in it. There's no point in mixing it with peanut butter unless you want to overpower the delicate, exotic hazelnut goodness with cheap, pedestrian peanut moosh.

What you really need to put on Nutella is Marshmallow Fluff.

Nutella is nice. I like a small quantity on read with a good dollop of real butter.
Or even better, as filling in a spongecake. Bake cake, slice in three pieces vertically.
One layer spread nutella, second layer raspberry jam.
Sprinkle powdered sugar on top and you have a winner.

Nobody's mentioned my favorite Nutella recipe:

Nutella + spoon.

Repeat as necessary.
