I'm a still waiting, but apparently as stuff gets close to the east coast it enters a vortex of incompetent postal workers and time dilations that result in me getting anything at least a week to two weeks late. The Nalgene cups is an example where I read the posts, look out the window longingly at the mailbox and then sighing deeply as the mail person would smile sweetly, as if to say, Yessssss we have your package.... It's sitting at the mail office, one day.... But not today... Bwaaaahahahahahahahahahahah...
I call her mimi the mail carrier, because she looks a lot like....
Image

Actually she doesn't.... but the longer I wait, the closer she looks that way...

I should be nice, I know..... But their track record is to date... pathetic.

So I won't.

You and me both... oh wells.

Sigh. Please notice what I said above, guys.

Everyone who donated, per the requirements of getting a tag, will get a dog tag sent to the address that was provided to us.

However, if you failed to follow the instructions (that included screen prints, I should add) to put your forum name in the notes on the donation, you won't be on the above publicly posted list because I don't know that you want to have your forum name publicly recognized. But, you will get your tags.

With that said... We do make mistakes. We are only human. If you did meet the requirements of getting a badge and don't get one, PLEASE let us know. We ordered lots of extra because we think ahead! We do occasionally make a mistakes (but won't admit to it) and often the post office loses some (thanks to your tax dollars), so let us know if there is a problem and we would be super happy to fix it for you. :)

I have waited to post this because I didn't want to sound whiny, but. I have not received anything yet. I don't know if it is the post office or what. How long should we wait until we think they were lost or overlooked? Like I said, I am not trying to be whiny, and it was not the point of my donating in the first place. I just didn't know when they were sent so I could gauge properly when to expect them.

I've been been ignoring this thread for a couple of weeks now, but curiosity got the better of me.

It's about the dog tags? Seriously? Let's keep things in perspective. ZS set this up (on very short notice and on the fly, I might add) as a way to allow us to help out. And in doing so, allowed us to distinguish ourselves from the tens of millions of Americans who anguished over the heartbreaking images on TV and the internet.

And then did nothing.

I go to bed every night and awake each morning with the smug satisfction that I'm morally superior to all those who surround me. Ha! Put a price tag on that! 8)

And the dog tags? They'll get here when they get here. And if the heavens and earth determine that for some reason I shall not receive my f*ing dog tag, I'll have to deal with the crushing disappointment. In fact, I think I'm going to get it out of the way right here and now.

Oh, bummer.

This isn't why we gave people.

Kind of an ironic thing to say in a thread full of donation posts...

Okay, that was me joking around. Not trying to bust your chops or nothing. I feel the same way about the tags. I haven't gotten any and per a much earlier post of mine, I really don't care if I do at all. Anything with a ZS logo has some value to me, but only because of what it's allowed me to accomplish, not because it's a reward. So, if the dog tag never gets here, boo-hoo from me as well. I originally asked Kyle and company to keep the thing and save the shipping cost for other things.

I'm not putting nobody down for wanting a dog tag, I understand that sometimes it's nice to have a token reminder of something you've done. For me, that was my ZS official ID card that came with my membership. I don't need nothing else. For those that do, I'm sure ZS will make sure you're taken care. I would only ask that those looking at their mailbox and waiting consider the people we all donated to help, people who are still looking FOR their mailbox instead of at it...

Oh yeah, I forgot to ask. Has anyone mentioned lately that ZS seriously kicks ass? 8)

It's all good. I think I can speak for Crypto when I say that getting the dog tags was/is/would have been cool, but wasn't the reason we donated. Speaking for myself, I donated before I even read the front page which lead to me being a dumbass and not putting my forum name on the paypal/donation page. :)

Kyle,
You guys do a look of stuff that not only keeps this group going, but allows us to help people out all over the world. For thar, I tip my hat to you and all the rest. Dogtags and thank you lists are the nifty reminders that we are not here entirely for ourselves, but to help others too. Keep up the good work.

I just got mine Friday. I'm in MIchigan. So your tag may still be enroute.

Received my dog tag Saturday and my daughter is proudly wearing it to school this morning.

Thanks again to the ZS staff for the hard work and fantastic effort in putting this together on such short notice.

Got mine last week. Appreciate the gesture, but sheesh, you really didn't have to ship that over the Atlantic, you know?

I live in Maine. I came home today to find an envelope in my mailbox with a ZS return address. The dogtag rocks but honestly, I think I was at least as tickled getting a thank you form letter on ZS letterhead.

Truly, this place is a class act in a sea of internet mediocrity. Thank you ZS staff and organizers, and thanks to all the membership who donated.

I wish I had a whole load of money to send. I did make 200 paper cranes for donations from Students Rebuild. They gave 2 dollars for each crane. Feels good to contribute.
