Every year ZS hosts an on line charity fund raiser to support a charity. This year, we decided to mix it up and give our donors an opportunity to decide where the donations are going.

To make it a little more interesting, we're also making the charity event a "Postal Match" competition. You are not required to participate in the match to donate but if you do, you'll have an opportunity to win a few extra votes and possibly a cool prize!

The funds for this drive will be donated directly to one of the charities listed below who receive the most donor votes. For more information about this charity drive or to find out what a "Postal Match" is, check out the Frequently Asked Questions tab above.

1) The first 100 entries to donate $30 or more to the ZS drive collection will receive a special edition ZS dog tag, similar to the Katrina relief, Greensburg relief and Myanmar & China effort tags.

2) If you're a member of our discussion forum, you'll get a cool banner under your name until the end of next year (2010).

3) You have the opportunity to win Cool Prizes if you participate in any of the shooting matches.

Click here to register: http://zombiehunters.org/charity2009.php#Registration

Here are the rules: http://zombiehunters.org/charity2009.php#Rules

NOTE: Every penny raised from this drive will be donated directly to the charity. All administration fees, electronic money transfer fees, shipping, dogtags, and all other costs incurred by this drive will be paid for by Zombie Squad, Inc.

Thank you for your help. Please contact us at charity@zombiehunters.org if you have any questions.

These are the charity options for you to choose between when registering. These charities are a few that Zombie Squad and its Chapters have supported in the past.
Operation Food Search
Red Cross
American Radio Relay League
Adopt a Pet
American Cancer Society
Habitat for Humanity
Americorps
Save the Children
Susan G Komen Foundation for the Cure
Toys for Tots

The following standard targets must be used. Some ranges are picky about "human shaped" targets, so a zombie-free version is available.
Click the image below to download the PDF then print on 8.5" x 11" or A4 sized paper.

Image Image
NOTE: If your targets are not on 8.5" x 11" or A4 they will be disqualified.

If you want to post up your targets and show them off, here you go: viewtopic.php?f=16&t=57192&p=1201186#p1201186

However, targets MUST be mailed via snail mail to the P.O. Box for this drive listed in the Rules: http://zombiehunters.org/charity2009.php#Rules
They can not be posted on this forum for entry into the match.

Kyle,

The registration form is not letting me put a different amount. It keeps saying to use only numbers when that is what I am using.

Just a bug you should know about.

I am running into the same bug. Every time I try to donate, it erases my city, and says to only enter numbers in the donation field.

Lather, rinse, repeat.

I just donated, everything seemed to go fine but I did check the box (thought I did anyhow)
for including my name on the donation letter. The confirmation said that I didnt though. No big deal anyhow, just wanted to let you know.

Also I have a question...
Not sure if I will get a chance to shoot so I just donated $30 (Yeah I would like a dogtag and banner! :D ).
Question is if I get the chance to shoot can I still do another donation and enter the shoot too.

I must be doing something wrong. I tried again but every time I try to submit my donation it keeps going back to the same screen. It doesn't tell me I am missing any information...it just returns to the same screen...

Question, sorry if I'm being stupid  I want to enter Airgun (air pistol!) but donate more than the 10 dollars for that. (Naturally I can't shoot any others, UK) How can I do that? From looking at the form it wasn't clear...

Thanks!

Ah. Right. Didn't think of that. I'll modify the form. Heading from a family gathering and won't be home until tonight. I'll post in here when I get the change put in.

I'm using IE8... I'll try again, and if it doesn't work, I'll let you know. Calling is fine.

Edit: Still having problems. When I click the submit button, it goes back to the same form. Also, the name of my city disappears and is replaced by PA, my state; the box to check for a receipt reappears unchecked.

I'll try it with Firefox.

Edit #2: Still no luck.

BTW, I did get a registration email after an unsuccessful attempt yesterday, so it may be that it won't accept my registration if it already has me in the system. I never got to a donation screen where I could donate the $$. If that is the problems, maybe I could just send the donation through the regular store setup.

Registered and going for it! Since zombies don't fight with honor, I plan on doing a point blank shot in the center of each skull and then noting that all 5 went through that one spot for the ranges indicated... please don't check mine for powder burns!

This'll be fun. I hope you guys get all kinds of support from the forum. Go Team Adopt a Pet!

heh. oops. yeah. The "city" field was being filled by "state" on a page reload. It's fine now. Sorry about that. I blame my testers (or lack of).

As far as going back to the same form, I'm not sure what would cause that. I'm going to give you a call here in a few minutes since you didn't tell me not to and I haven't talked to you in a while. :)

OK, the stats have been updated. It's not a bad start but it's looking a little bare. :)

For those of you that hang out on other forums/website feel free to spread the banner add above.

Here's some code to make it easier:

For BB Code:
Code:

or
Code:

HTML code:
Code:
<a href="http://zombiehunters.org/charity2009.php"><img src="http://zombiehunters.org/images/ZS_Post_Charity.jpg"/></a>

or

We have no problems with hot linking. We have plenty of bandwidth.

Kyle, sorry I missed your call. We were visiting the in-laws.

As I mentioned, I did get a registration confirmation from a previous attempt. I didn't get a chance to send the $$$ so I went to the donation page and sent the $50 through the regular donation channel. I put a note under the special instructions that the donation was for the postal match charity fundraiser.

I didn't try registering again - but would my previous registration account for my getting sent back to the same page?

We always order them after all the number are in so we know how many to order. It would cost us ten times more money if we ordered them as people registered, plus it would be a lot of work on our volunteers to do it that way.

We'll be placing the order the day after the drives closes (end of Feb) and mailing them out shortly after they come in.

Prizes will be mailed around that time as well (once we determine what they are :) )

Are there specified shooting positions for the various matches? Also there is a typographical error between the information page and the registration page. One says shotgun sans scope and the other is shotgun with.

Well, since I made a mistake there and several people have already registered, I'm going to say scope is optional and modify the instructions to reflect that. Thanks for letting me know!

No specified shooting positions specified for the matches this time.

The next drive status probably won't be until the new year. I'll let you guys know when I do.

If I don't get in here again before then, Happy New Year!

Sweet. Just printed out my 4 targets.

Pistol - 9mm Browning Hipower - Remington green/white box 147 grain target rounds
Shotgun - 870 Express - Federal 2 3/4" Super Ball slugs.

Never shot a slug in my LIFE, so we'll see how this goes. No sites except the bead on the end of the barrel, too, so hopefully it doesn't take me too many practice shots to get the hang of things. Weren't as expensive as I thought it might be either. Just a couple pennies over $1 / slug.

Should be able to hit the Sheriff's range this Saturday, hopefully, assuming it's open.
