If I can keep rolling out 3 packets a day, yer all in trouble!

It is a great cause, tho slightly ironic. One of the Zombie scenarios is a biologically caused one, and this research would lead to the kind of research that could create zombies.

I'm on it.

I have a few spare PCs at work that I can turn on and get them busy doing this.

I've got two machines running Seti@Home, but used to do that Folding bit. My computer kept crapping out, so I wasn't content with having my computer emulate the noise of a buzzsaw when I was trying to sleep.

Looks interesting. I'm about to take my laptop back to factory installation to clean it off and start over from scratch so I'll have to pop back in here for that link to get that going now.

I thought ZS wasn't technically a non-profit charity. Did that change? If so , yay!

How does the work units vs. the points work on the scale? Some have more work units and lower score and others have higher score and fewer work units?

I think it's the size of the work units processed. Not really sure though.

Folding@Home is a great cause, and I've been at it myself for a couple of years. That said, there's also another way to contribute to medical research called fold.it. To quote from the linked article below:

"A new game, named Foldit, turns protein folding into a competitive sport. Introductory levels teach the rules, which are the same laws of physics by which protein strands curl and twist into three-dimensional shapes – key for biological mysteries ranging from Alzheimer's to vaccines."

Good to see the idle time of the ZS distributed supercomputer (er, our PCs and consoles...) put to good use. I jumped on this as soon as it started, 'cos a foldy-type brainrot nailed my Dad and has the last dance marked on my card. Just joined the team. I'll get some of the lazy servers at work on the case too... ;)
