May as well add my BOV. It's nowhere near done (just got it two months ago), but it's an awesome little rig. Got my CB wired now and also have some Response Team vinyls on it. It will be getting a tan paint job, light lift, blackout tint, different Zombie Stickers, and massive roll protection with a platform, you know, for looking at stars or having the high ground anywhere...

P.S. this is my first attempt at photo posting on any forum, so here's to hoping it works.

Since my wife's 99 Solara decided to start pissing oil on the exhaust manifold, I picked up a new station car to play with.

Here's my new (to me) 2007 Toyota 4Runner V8 Limited

Probably going to go with snow tires on these rims and add a second set of 33" rims/tires. If you have suggestions that will do both, I'm all ears! I pick her up on Thursday, very excited to get my new toy!

Picked this up back in August. It's just a little Honda Shadow 500 but it gets 48mpg even with my big ass on it. Starts every time too. Here it is at Sturgis.

Comanche's are awesome! It's hard to find one around here that isn't rusted out or isn't 2WD.

So about a month ago, I scraped together a few grand to purchase a get around ride. I got a 2002 Ford Escape for $2700 and put a few hundred into it (Tires and tie rod ends) other than that it was a nice and clean ride. On my way to work, I work in the 'hood (Detroit) a guy came across a divided hi-way and t-boned me. I seen it coming at the very end and managed to not LET him hit my door and instead hit the back door and tire area. It almost flipped me. Anyway, I made out on the deal slightly due to the price I got the Escape for.

Last week I was able to pick this thing up (pix below) I must say, the Explorer is much more beefy and powerful. I've had to drop some money into it, but its is a V8, 7 seater and full leather, Sunroof, and DVD player oh and a 4x4!

Have not been on line in a long time, I upgraded my pull behind trailer, to a 26ft, four season, travel trailer, with big slide out. It is not a “Bug out” trailer if the situation requires immediate exit to the high mountains, it would be left behind and only the truck and truck camper would go mobile. However if time permits it makes a great way to get out of the way of troubles. I recently mobilized a day ahead of a Big Ice storm and was in a far warmer location, enjoying a nice beach view, while the trees collapsed and power went out for several thousand people in the state I had just “bugged out” from. I have given it much thought and a travel trailer, of the appropriate size for you needs, is a great way to go. As long as you are totally willing to (and prepared to) abandon it without hesitation if the situation requires it. I know a lot of folks don't like the idea of a Travel trailer, as a BOV/BOT. I however disagree with them on the condition that you pay attention to the news, weather and any other social media you choose and are in a situation that allows you to make the choice to exit ahead of the panicked masses who will inevitably clog the highways to a stand still. My truck camper, that never is removed from my truck, always carries the main supply of food and water, and other items I consider a necessity and is equipped with a set of 250 watt/12v solar panels and battery bank. I can power the trailer off the truck camper full time off grid. For extended cloudy or overcast days I do have a small 700 watt, gas fueled generator, more than enough power to run the power tools I carry and/or recharge the battery bank. With the Truck camper and travel trailer I have 90 days of water and about 120 days of food for two people combined. If I dump the trailer I lose 60 days of water but can transfer the food and supplies with little trouble. The extra supplies stored in the travel trailer and both propane tanks on the trailer can be transferred to the truck in under 20 min, I have done a timed test of this. I would have to leave a lot of stuff behind, but it is just stuff and not a Z-Day survival necessity. Also a gas powered Schwinn bike to make runs for supplies,is always in the truck camper.

Hey guys you got me with the bug out rigs. Some pretty nice rigs.
One day a duece and a 1/2 may show up at the place, Until then I would rely on my 1995 F250 w/ Turbo Diesel.
If we ever get into a situation were a bug out is in order. Pretty sure a gas fueled vehicle would only be a short term fix. Gas will turn bad after just a few months of storage. Diesel on the other hand would still be good after a couple hundred years.

Here is ours, A Nissan Quashqui, classed as a CUV its suprisingly roomy inside and can take 2 six footer adults in the back, the bootspace isn't brilliant but with the addition of some handyracks top box its adequate for the 10 mile trip to our BOL, Its not 4WD but does have a raised profile, a crawler/snow setting on the gears and its diesil so it returns over 50mpg.
