Looking for a trailer hitch mounted shelf thing. To place gas cans on. Anyone got any favorites?

I know Rugged Ridge makes hitch cargo racks. I generally hate their stuff. It's basically guaranteed to rust in 15 minutes (might as well buy the cheapest thing from harbor freight or tractor supply if you go that route).

So I can tell you who NOT to buy...

On road use only? Any weight requirements?

I like those Walmart ones. Probably made in the same factory as expensive ones sold in auto catalogs.

We had a nice metal one but it got stolen, so we snatched a plastic one off of craigslist for a couple bucks. It had a metal frame with a plastic "tub" or platform. It does a decent job for hauling stuff that weighs about 150 pounds or less like a lawnmower or bins.

That one I posted is rated to 500lbs. I need it to hold gas and water containers. So the 500lb limit is good.
