Bicycle Powered Cell Phone/Battery Pack

Not sure if this has been posted before, or if this is in the right section....

Thought the members who consider the bicycle as a valid form of SHTF transportation might see the value in this product.

CNN Article:
Bike powered cell phone charger: the Atom - CNN.com

While I'm sure it would suit the urban hipster cafe-running the local coffeehouses, I do have concerns as to how well it would hold up on rocky singletrack. Either way, I'm interested to find out more as the product develops to the market.

And here is the Company Website:

The Atom is specifically designed to output a high quality, USB compatible 5V @ up to 500mA. In English, that means that if your device can be charged with a USB connection (iPhones, and iPods, Galaxy phones, GPS trackers, etc.), then it will take a charge from the Atom.
The iPhone (and probably many more devices) won't charge at anything less than 1amp (1000mA)
