New IFAK

Post by Stercutus » Sun Sep 02, 2018 6:38 am

I need a new IFAK. My old one pretty much has expired contents all around. What is new in the world of IFAK? Or should I just go with a resupply kit? This one would do it:

But I kind of like this one too, my current kit has no shears and I have seen shears as a useful thing:

Hey,
Either of those are decent kits, and will work for penetrating trauma. To should absolutely keep shears in your kit, I always have a pair or two.

I just resupplied my family FAK at Rescue Essentials this past week. Good quality items. For a fair price. I'd go with the RE one. They also sell several different types of sheers. I bought the 5.5" green and black ones. They are outstanding. Larger rivet makes me feel better about long term use. That seems to always be the fail point for me.

I decided to go with this one:

It was $129 when purchased. I am very pleased with it. It is much larger than I thought it would be however I keep mine on the passenger seat back so it fits perfectly. The supplies are all dated through 2025 or later so I should be good till 2nd retirement.
