Medical Pointee Talkee/ Useful Phrase card.

Post by DrJack » Mon Nov 17, 2014 12:13 pm

In need of a Spanish/English pointee talkee for common medical things as well as some useful phrases (Sit here, Wait 10 minutes, empty pockets, etc.)

Google and the search on this forum don't seem to hold my answers, so can anybody help?

I have more need for clinical type stuff than emergency, but anything helps.

Thanks

I know Barnes and Noble has some good pocket sized medical quick translation books(especially here in the Valley) but I haven't seen a good hand held sheet laminated that you can point to with diagrams like deployed Medics would have for dealing with locals.

I am not fluent in Spanish by any means but I get by with the basics when I need to. Usually for stuff out here the goto thing to do seems to be to point at various body parts and say "Dolor???(Pain in Spanish)" until the patient nods agreement and then do very careful palpation from there. It has worked well for me in the past but it certainly isn't a full OPQRST and usually there is someone who can translate who eventually shows up or is part of the crew. But if I see something like what you are looking for I will pass it along, I'm sure one of the EMS crews out here has to have something like what you are looking for.

Two different formats, one is pick and choose, the other is set phrases.
