Portable operations in the local national forest running at 10 watts on the Elecraft KX3's internal NiMH batteries.

The antenna is a 10/20/40 meter lightweight (3.5 oz) and low power end fed at 41' long. The KX3's internal tuner has no problem matching up to it.

I have had pretty good NVIS results from that Par Endfedz with both ends at about 10-15 feet.

Here's mine. Haven't spent a lot of time working with it, most of my efforts have been focused on getting a setup I feel I can work with and that the wife can tolerate having in the house. The desk and shelf (on the right) is an Ikea combo unit. The wall and corkboard behind the desk I manufactured and it serves as a sort of room-divider. It was a bit of an effort to get the wainscoting stained to match the Ikea desk. I think it ended up being a mix of mahogany and black over a coat of that softwood stain-evener stuff. Came out ok I think. There are holes in the shelf on the wall for cords because I will eventually have other gear positioned there. Thinking ahead.

I'm sure the radio buffs need no rundown on the gear but the xmiter on the bottom right is a Hallicrafters HT-37 which is a companion for the HT-41 linear amp on the top shelf. The rig on the middle shelf is a Heathkit SB-104b and the receiver front and center is a Hallicrafters S-108 with matching speaker.

Yes, I like the old iron and the warm glow of tubes. FWIW my winter project is going to be getting a SDR put together that can be controlled via a Raspberry Pi - firmly bringing my humble station into the 21st century.
