HT Go Box

Post by Gurthy » Sun Apr 05, 2015 7:42 pm

I was eyeballing one of those little plastic Federal 120 round boxes last week and decided that it was the perfect size for an HT "go box". The idea is for a small, basic kit that is somewhat protected to be used for hiking and the like.

The contents:
-Nelson slim jim antenna
-30' of mason line on an old teflon tape spool (with a snap swivel and small fishing weight...used to hoist the antenna)
-spare battery
-UV-5R
-stock antenna
(not shown is a small laminated list of local freqs., taped inside the lid)

Here it is packed up next to a ball cap for scale.

Nice. Did you check to see what the price difference would be if you used a Plano or Otter Box?
