Free Petroleum Jelly

Post by Johnny Payphone » Tue Mar 30, 2010 2:59 pm

Free to a good home:

1,425 gallons of petroleum jelly in 55-gallon drums. These were obtained by us for experimentation as a fuel in a multifuel diesel. However we're having problems with the city that considers it hazmat. We burn it in a boiler to heat the shop. Located in Berkeley CA. Free delivery in the Bay area!

(I'm not allowed to post in the Trading post, but this is not a sale. These are free!)

That's a pretty good cover story as to why you have it. :P

I'll believe you, but thousands wouldn't.

Too bad it isn't Vick's Vapo-Rub. I'd love a 55 gallon drum of that.

Well, after everybody wrassled in it, they realized they couldn't put their clothes back on without getting the jelly all over the inside of their clothes. Then they got in their cars and got it all over the car. Then they got home and discovered that nothing gets it out. Note that the 1425 gallons is untouched, none of that has been wrassled in.

I did take your advice and put it on craigslist, I got rid of one barrel to a vintage baseball glove restorer, and a lot of unwelcome dirty emails.

I have a compulsion to get the trailer and drive up to Berkley to get this, but then I'd be stuck with 1,425 gallons of petroleum jelly. I mean, I'm sure I could figure something to do with it, but jeez that's a lot.
