Wood Moisture Tester

Post by Dreadful » Tue Oct 24, 2017 8:02 pm

I just saw this, where the guy built an awesome wood shed.

Just in case a few of you don't know, you can grab a wood moisture tester. To burn (inside) you want it at like 20% or less. Outside it can be more, but over 30% is when it smokes and drains heat from the fire.

They're pretty cool if you rely on wood as an energy source regularly. Most people say 1-2 years to season, but as I mentioned in that post, some trees we've cut down have been good to go in as little as 6 months...check with the tester and you're good to go!
