Just wanted to throw this out there.

When we met at the Pacifico campout we talked about having a state "events coordinator" to keep track of the events going on across the state and maintain a thread on the forum that will contain the upcoming ZS events in one place. This way the So Cal people don't plan a work project the same day the bay area people plan a meeting, etc.

If no one is opposed to it I would be willing to fill this roll.

This kind of stuff will be easier to keep track of when we get our own chapter section.

On that note, I'll share the email response Michelle sent me:
michelle wrote:Thanks! I'm passing this on to the board, and I expect we'll have an answer for you by Sunday.

(I can't wait to get an active chapter in CA.)

I'm going camping this weekend, so maybe by the time I get back, we'll be official!

Ok, folks, I got this response from Michelle via email...
michelle wrote:Awesome! I can't wait for you guys to get going. Our only concern is that the President, Financial Officer, Third Officer set-up is a requirement.
Our application had the three members listed as regional co-chairs.
michelle wrote: We need to have one head of the group and one person responsible for the finances (as mentioned in a previous message to one of you, you can out-source this for back-up and accuracy, but we need someone in the group to hold responsibility). The third officer can fill whatever role you feel works best for your group; in this case I'd vote for an Event Coordinator or a Regional Coordinator.
Event Coordinator is a position we discussed both on the forums and in person, so Event Coordinator sounds good to me.
michelle wrote:I don't see that this requirement should contradict your need to have a representative from each region in an officer position. Given the three names in the presented order, I'd go with Mickey as the President, Ricky as the Financial Officer, and Cameron as the Regional Coordinator. Assuming that this (or any other configuration of the three of you in the three required positions) is acceptable, you can fill out a chapter agreement and you'll be a chapter! You can print it, sign it, and email a scanned version rather than mailing it in if you like.

Congrats!

Michelle
I've responded to the mothership to inquire whether this "chapter agreement" is a separate document or if we have to submit a new chapter application with the amended titles. Either way, it sounds like it's only a formality. In short, our chapter IS going to happen!

Congratulations and thanks to all. I'm going to go celebrate with an In-n-Out burger and a beer now. :D

awwww, cameron is gonna be so bummed out that he went to bed without reading this...he's been driving me nuts all weekend.

Though I recommend against letting him be called "events coordinator"...he might get ideas.

Email is answered, including the whole Events Coordinator position (which I think Nacho was going to fill)
At this point I'll sign up as Chapter Janitor if that's what the paperwork requires.

Will print scan and sign in the morning.

After reading the paperwork, I encourage all of you who haven't already to pony up the $15 and become official ZS members. We can only count you in chapter membership if you are a paying member.

We should have done it like this the first time.
The scanner on my floor just took a crap on me. I'll head upstairs, scan it, and send it to Ricky before lunch.
