Alabama Zombie Squad

Post by Doomsday » Fri Apr 08, 2005 2:43 am

I noticed two dots on the ZS Map around the Mobile area, my hometown. Anyone else here from bama?

I'm curious as to contingency plans in the state. We've got lots of open country around here esp. in mid-state, open seas, and some mountainous terrain... err, rather foothills. I dunno if i would go to Cheaha (a whopping 2,000 ft. elevation), sail to mexico, or isolate in farm country somewhere.

mostly i just wanna say wuzzup...

Sorry for late reply.

I'm up around Huntsville myself.

Wuzzup Mob Town! Lovely place.

I'm gong to try to petition Auburn UPC (university program council) to have a zombie movie festival, either duing the summer or next Halloween. I think it would be a smash hit. Would anybody around here be interrested? It's defo. feasable with all the buildings and equipment available to the university. I'll even try to front some of the costs for it.

We always called the UPC at UNA the Useless Piece of Crap.

If you could talk them in to it I'd probably be able to break away from the ball-and-chain for a little while.

We had Hell on the Hill every year, of course it was run by the fraternity and not by the campus. But what the hell, it would fun to stomp on the plains again.

I live in Mobile right now. Unfortunately, I can't really be counted on to be here at all times. I bounce around between college (Atlanta), Guam, and various places during summer and spring break. If you do need some muscle sometime to build a shelter or something though, and I'm in town, I'd likely be happy to help.

I'm on the west side of Atlanta, about 40 minutes drive from the AL border and 90 minutes from B'ham, so if you AL folks every want to get together and do some stuff, let me know, I'd be up for it.

My dad is looking to get some land in AL for a bugout retreat/second home, I wanted to know you guys opinions. I'm thinking the Warrior area, about halfway between B'ham and Huntsville - good water access in the area because of all the rivers and creeks, low population density, but still within a tank of gas of the west side of Atlanta. Good idea, bad idea, indifferent?

I'm going to try to get a plot of land in central alabama in the near future. sounds good to me being mostly open farm country, IIRC. and you're not far from cheaha if you need to get to "high" ground.

shoktrooper said land is pretty cheap up there. plus, some institution released the most and least expensive places to live in the US, which they aired on CNN. Huntsville, AL is the second cheapest place to live in the US.

Warrior would be a good BOL oracle. I have done a little camping around that area. Plus with its location between two major cities you would have some good places to look for goods in the PAW if you were brave (i.e. STUPID) enough to go into town ''

Not sure if any of you are interested, but the Abba Temple on Schillinger (in Mobile) is hosting a gun and knife show on the saturday and sunday of this weekend. I'm going to head on down and check it out. If you see a kind of asian looking guy with a goatee, in black pants and a gray t-shirt, that's me.

Nice to know some things at my old alma mater are still the same (Class of '88).

well it doesnt seem that there is enough of a concentration of interest to warrant a chapter. Northern, central or otherwise. :gonk:
