I'll be buying a new gun soon. I could also bring some .22s for fun, which gives me an idea. You think firearm safety classes count as a charity? It is a public good.

Probably not, but I was thinking maybe we could hold a shooting competition and donate all the money from entry fees to a local charity. I'll even come out of pocket for some crappy trophies.

Maybe we could use the "Brian" targets used for the postal matches.

Yeah, in the charity events and this thread. Feels like a private chat room in here.

I would be interested in a shooting competition/charity event. Willing to travel between Redding and Fresno.

Froggy.

I dunno. I've gotta think about some stuff first. I'll probably be ready for a yes or no by the afternoon.

I say donate blood to the red cross, or a local bloodbank. I donate at a bloodbank in my area once in a while....

But an "activity" like camping would be cool to go to.

Yeah, the Blood Bank deal would be nice, but a lack of evidence and "meeting up" would probably not give off chapter forming material to the staff.

I got my membership today! We need 3 members to have a chapter, so anyone who wants to do this, I urge you to get yours.

Oh, and how about the month of August instead of July for our first charity event (as a non-chapter)? Doing a blood drive is sounding better, as there are blood banks in our respective ares and we can work on our own in our own towns. My idea is to arrange with the local blood bank to set up a drive day and in the weeks before the big day, I get people to commit to an appointment to give blood. That way the work is spread over several weeks, you don't rely on foot traffic to bring in donors, and if someone commits on paper, they're more likely to follow through.

What do you think about this?

If you mean the 4th as in this Wednesday,I'd like to, but I've got plans (including buying my first gun 8) ). But with a little more notice, I'd be glad to make some room in my schedule.

Be sure to post the highlights of your trip in "Travel". Scotland, right? I'd love to see pics. When does school start for you?

Edit: Just went to "Travel" and saw your thread.

Funny you should ask. I'll be up in Vallejo at Cal Maritime. It's somewhere around early August. Unfortunately, firearms are verboten there. Because of the nature of time, I should be up there prior to the start date, getting all my shit sorted. Fortunately, because of my connections with the lower half of the state, I should still be able to coordinate from the area, as I know little to nothing of the northern half.
