Cool. Will there be an introduction of viruses and a grid down situation on board to simulate a regular cruise?

Interesting...

I was actually on the maiden voyage of the Allure. It's a helluva ship...

If I didn't already have a vacation planned this year I'd definitely go. Have to think about it, now...

LOL, I'm absolutely bringing a big pile of N95 masks and nitrile gloves, just in case things get sporty.

I'm going to see how much of a bribe it will take to find a yeoman willing to run the ZS flag up on the yardarm.

You'll be wanting a signalman then. A yeoman is a clerk.

And no yardarm since no sails, but there is a signal halyard. FWIW, my former business partner used to take cruises quite frequently, and never had a problem getting the crew to run his gay pride flag up the halyard.

I just picked up John Ringo's second zombie book. There's a cruise ship in the first one...

I would love to go on this. Are shotguns included in the price? I'll understand if they charge for the buck shot...

Shouldn't a zombie cruise involve an old Russian freighter, copious amounts of spam and vodka, and fending off pirate attacks?

Hah!

During my belowdecks tour, aside from discovering the fully-functional hospital complete with a surgery suite and ICU, I also discovered the jail... hopefully none of our guys will wind up there...

*grin*

Experience beats equipment. The chances of things going totally pear shaped are slim, but... there is a chance! So you should go, and learn how to survive in a closed system environment (with sundecks and all you can eat shrimp cocktail).

You cannot get this sort of life experience from a Major Surplus catalog.

That sounds like so much fun! Sadly, I am in a wedding and won't be able to make the cruise.

That is a Royal Caribbean ship, I have been on a cruise with them. Real nice and lots of fun. I also find it ironic that it goes to Haiti and Jamaica and Cozumel. Haiti is the birthplace of Zombies. Zombies are also big in Jamaican folklore. Cozumel also has the Mayan ruins, human sacrifices, so there is the possibility of Zombies.

Also I know some prep folks may be spooked by Haiti being a port of call, but I'm assuming the ship port at Labadee, Haiti which is a private port resort (meaning sealed off from the rest of the country with security). I did a 7 day cruise hitting multiple ports around the Caribbean and I had concerns about going to Haiti, but Labadee was one of the nicest, safest and most fun.

This zombie cruise sounds like it will be a blast. I really wish I could go.
