Ghost Recon Wildlands
Went back to this game. I've been playing SWB2. But GRW came out with a Predator mission scenario and 4v4 multiplayer so I'll be GWRing with some friends for a little while.
The other thing that is cool, that probably came out with the 4v4 release, is that the Ghost Recon Network now has customizable signatures. I have mini customizable signatures in my ZS sig lines now for BF3, BF4[PS3], MoHW, BF4[PS4], that show my rank for each game.
It looks like the stats are for the 4v4 which I don't have any yet.
Note: The [ZS_] is my Task Force designator. So if any ZSers want to join let me know.

Re: What are you playing?
I've been playing the Xbox One version of Far Cry 4 and it only took me two weeks to complete the campaign missions. I remember having such a hard time completing certain missions and this time around, I had very little trouble. Still got my ass handed to me a couple times, though.
Now I'm just going around and completing the side missions or just messing around with all the guns in the game.

Is GWR worth getting? Been looking for a new shooter but wanted something a little more open world and that doesn't have to be online so I can pause it if need be (dad life).

Wargame Red Dragon on Steam. It's a complicated RTS on Steam. You can pick either Western (Us, Canada, any western european Country, Japan, South Korea, Austraila) vs eastern block (Soviet Union, China, North Korea, Czechoslovakia, Poland) and a few neutral countries like Sweden. You have recon, artillery, tanks, infantry, jets, helos, naval, and support and command vehicles.

Definitly worth getting. But you have to be online. you can 'pause' it anytime but that may back you up to the start of an area you were clearing. It is openworld to the extent that you limit the world to Bolivia and there are some areas you can't get to unless you chopper or parachute into/onto them.ManInBlack316 wrote:MacWa77ace wrote:Ghost Recon Wildlands

It's a 3rd person shooter that you can set up to ADS or aim in 3rd person. Lots of stuff to do so lots of value $$. Also on the story mission, you can play solo, with computer AI's as your team mates, play with random team CoOp multi player, or play with friends CoOp. And Like I said they just added the 4v4 MultiPlayer mode.

So you have to have to play online with it?
No option to just play solo and offline?

Re: What are you playing?
Bought a new laptop so I could play Fall Out 4.
Got all the DLCs with sale on Steam.
Screwed up with spaceship and not sure I want to restart.
When I get tired of playing it, I switch out playing Sims 4 and Sims 3 supernatural.

Re: What are you playing?
I picked up "Watch Dogs 2" on sale at the local Walmart a couple weeks back.
It's a pretty good game and I don't see why a lot of gamers were so negative against it. Yeah, it's not GTA V, but I don't think it was ever meant to be the same as that game. I love GTA V, but I'm not going to compare every other open world sandbox type game to it and then get angry when they're not exactly the same.
Anyway, I love the game, but there are a few things I don't like. Number one being the constant Ubisoft online stuff. Every game session I do, I have to log out of the online play session in order to not get hassled by other gamers. I had one follow me around for twenty minutes, constantly spamming me to join up in a co-op session. I don't have a Ubisoft game account 9and don't really want one, to be honest), so I couldn't join them. Eventually, they left and I found out I could leave the online part.
Since then, I mostly play offline (or as offline as I can get without Ubisoft automatically logging me in every ten minutes).
Still, despite that issue, I love messing around in a virtual San Francisco. I'll probably never get to visit the real one, so this is basically a cheap way for me to see the sights without leaving Texas.

I've been playing 'The Division' [released about 2 years ago on Playstation4] which is Ubisoft and in virtual New York City. Very accurate locations and facades. Not sure if its to scale though. There's no vehicles so you have to run, jog, or walk thru town. Actually now that I think about it, it is an Apocalyptic scenario. A manufactured virus is weaponized and spread by paper dollar bills killing almost everyone in NYC. And yeah the login for the game to start is probably 3-4 minutes which I hate, and you can't actually play offline, even if you are soloing. But joining up with random players to do mission is what that game is based on. An I like that co-op stuff, although there is also a PvP experience in 'The Dark Zone' of the map.
There's also weather changes [sometimes it gets so snowy or foggy, which creates glare at night and you have trouble seeing the tangos] and the time of day changes. The time is definitely scaled down you go from day to night in a few hours. But it's cool to watch the sun rise or fight at night etc.
You're a Division agent trying to find out info on the virus, set up your base of operations, restore vital infrastructure, bring rogue factions to justice, investigate missing agents, and much more.
TL:DR Division Gear/Gun mods summarized very briefly.
Division is a Gear and Gun mod heavy game though, and I don't like that aspect that much, but am getting good at that too. You gather weapons and gear to increase your agents abilities. But you can also build guns and gear if you collect the right parts and blueprints. And you can also 'optimize' existing gear to increase its abilities for you. And you can also 'recalibrate' gear, which is to change its primary ability from one type to another. Why would you need to do that? Well there's gear sets that give additional perks and each piece of gear give you a Firearms, Stamina, and Electronics ability. If you want to use say, a certain backpack and filter mask in combination to unlock certain perks, but they both upgrade Stamina, you may want to change one to upgrade Firearms, or your firearms stats would be too low. This part of the game and maintaining your inventory, stash, and extracted items, takes 10-20 minutes of maintenance work for every couple hours of Mission work.
It also has Appearance mods and sets. My agent is currently wearing a Tom Clancy Ghost Recon Wildlands 'outfit' [another game I'm currently playing] and a friend of mine uses a Splinter cell 'outfit'. Which is what he also wears when we play TC GRW. There are tons of appearance items you can find, earn, buy, etc.
Here's some gameplay of the Division video's in my YT playlist. https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=P ... aWkQsTpQrC

Another one that I played a long time ago that had a mostly accurate location was Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare [Playstation3]. I had not really heard of Pripyat before, but one of the missions went thru that city. Then later when I saw a documentary and some movies that were filmed there, I had major Deja Vu. Even the insides of some of the apartments and the swimming center and I think it was social center where spot on. The Ferris wheel and bumper cars were there too.

So here's what a BF4 World Ranked Jet Pilot [me] does with a new air combat video game called AirConflicts. [new to me]
A couple hours in and I had it set to Ace Difficulty and Simulation Mode which are the hardest settings in the Game. Then set it to 1 vs 10, and had no ammo reloads in this instant battle mode.

For proof of difficulty and game setup, start the video from the beginning, the link takes you to the awesome music video version which starts at 4:14.

Re: What are you playing?
Right now the hubs and I are playing through Dragon Age Inquisition for the second time after playing through the previous games in the series a few times for different storyline variations. I love the series and really hope DA4 is actually going to come out some day and it's not just rumors. And if it comes out, Varric has to be in it or I will be severely disappointed. He's the best written side character IMO...my husband jokes that he's a little jealous of my crush on the dwarven rogue, lol.
Also, we're considering getting into an MMO together again. The last one we did was SWTOR. Didn't stop because we weren't enjoying it, but I got pregnant with my twins and couldn't sit at the computer very long comfortably. Any recommendations? I like story-driven ones (and not WOW).

Re: What are you playing?
Ghost Recon Wildlands just updated and includes a new Game mode. Ghost Mode.
Played the new mode for the first time over the weekend on PS4. You have to create a new character and basically start from the beginning of the game with the first mission.

One of the features in this mode comes really close to reality in ammo management. Many of you 1st and 3rd person gamers are familiar with reloading norms across many many different games, that when you fire a shot or a few shots, you immediately do a tactical reload to top off your mag. And your ammo level stays the same after the tactical reload so all but one of your mags are full to the tip top.
In this mode if you reload with any ammo remaining in your mag you lose the remaining ammo. For example, You have 80 rnds total and in a 20 rnd mag you use 5 rnds. You reload. Now you only have 60 rnds total remaining but you now have a new 20 rnd mag in your weapon. This is great and should be the way its done in any game mode for any game, in any difficulty harder than normal.
Ideally though, they would keep all the mags and go back to the partially full ones or allow you to take a few minutes to restack your mags to top off all the partially full ones. Like reality.
Another new aspect of this mode is if you die you loose your character's progression. I think. I made it to Level 5 and thru a couple missions and side missions without dying so I'm not sure what this means. Like if you loose your level or map progression or character completely and have to start over, or just have to go back to the beginning of the mission. This last one is really close to what happens in Teir1 mode or any regular game mode so that's probably not it. But can you imagine, this game is really huge, after 30 hrs of progression you loose everything including the map completion.
And the game glitched my AI team mate to look exactly like my character.

He even mirrored my movements in the staging area. Spooky Doppelganger.
Also been playing an old PS3 game called SOCOM4 [2011] I never played before. Borrowed it from a friend. All network game functionality are gone as multiplayer servers are shutdown. Started the campaign on Hard Difficulty to get that trophy when complete because I don't want to have to play thru twice. The Cover aspect of the game is really buggy compared to the Division or other games with a cover aspect. You get stuck behind cover or come out when you don't want to or can't get into cover or aim from cover in certain situations. Also the commands for the AI are not good either, but AI sucks in 2018 games still.

I, too, was playing the division. Definitely an apocalypse feel to it. you can even help civilians in need. They will ask for an item..medkit, food, water etc. They usually give pretty good gear or clothes.
One down fall is the amount to kill one guy. Even high gear and lower level enemies...its just meh. But, game is fun and I reached max level with story completed. So I stopped playing it. Tried the DLCs, but Im ready for a different game. Will be buyinf the Division 2 for sure though.

Yeah, the mag dumps it takes to kill some bad guys is incredible. But luckily you can run around carrying about 400 pounds of ammo no problem. I just registered for the Div2 beta yesterday, you should register for that now.w3rdtoyamama wrote: ↑Wed Aug 15, 2018 2:16 amI, too, was playing the division. Did you 'OPTIMIZE' your weapons and gear at the optimization station? I'm maxed out too as far as level, but I have a ways to go with the optimization.
I got this screen shot [off a YT video] of a guys gear optimization which is probably double mine right now. The only guys I have a problem with are PvP Rogue Agents who are probably geared out like this guy. My highest gear piece is in the high 900's so if I go up against a guy like this 1v1 I'm dead in two seconds no matter what ambush I setup, they take almost no damage. But if you look at his firepower, toughness, and skill power scores he's not that much higher than me except for toughness and my skillpower is waaay higher than his. I can't figure out how to defeat a maxed out Rogue Agent. And my Stamina, Firepower and Electronics numbers are in the 4000 to 5000 range which is also waaay higher than him. So again, I don't get why I can't beat these guys.

This is me, as you can see in the video it depends on the weapon and shot placement, there's a cool one shot kill shotgun blast to the head in there, along with multiple mag dumps against the boss.

Honestly, I did not optimize. I dont even understand all that. And did not really want to take the time to learn it. Since I finished campaign, I kinda got bored of it. Thanks for all the info!

Re: What are you playing?
I've been playing around in Far Cry 5 for the last couple days.
I've already freed one region and I'm working on the other two, but I'll probably just end up messing around like I usually do in these open world type games. It's a fun game that's filled with a ton of stuff to do, unlike the past entries in the series that were kind of limited. Like in Far Cry 4 where once you completed all the little side missions and the like, it ended up just being a whole lot of "drive around, kill bad guys, lather, rinse, repeat" type stuff.
Which was still fun, don't get me wrong. But I think I'm going to have more fun in Far Cry 5.

Re: What are you playing?
Battlefield 1 went on sale on Playstation Store for $5.99, and the Premium Upgrade [DLC content] was a free download. So I got both. I played the BF1 beta when it came out but wasn't really into WWI so didn't buy it back when it came out a couple years ago.
I'm playing it now to Practice for Battlefield V scheduled release in November. I played the beta for BFV a couple of weeks ago and am probably going to buy it, but the interface and controls are way different from BF4 so I'm going to use BF1, which uses the same interface and controls, for practice for the next month or so until BF5 releases.
ETA: the PS Store said that BF1 was 45gb download. But I had to keep deleting games off my PS4 for it to fit. Kept getting a 'not enough room' error. But my system said I had 60gb of space. Anyhow, after finally deleting everything except Battlefield 4 Premium, The Division and Ghost Recon Wildlands, it fit. ITS 112gb on my HDD.
That's the biggest game so far I've ever had.
There's this thing on Playstation where you get trophies for completing specific tasks in a game. And on The Division I only have 2 more trophies to get, 'kill a rogue agent' and kill 20 rogue agents', to then receive the ultimate trophy for a game which that task is 'earn all trophies for the game'. And on Ghost Recon Wildlands I only have one more trophy to get, 'kill 7 enemies with one mine', to get a platinum.
Of all my PS3-4 games I've never gotten a platinum. Now I have 3 games sitting within 1-2 trophies of platinum. [Medal of Honor PS3 is the 3rd]

Re: What are you playing?
I've been mainly playing Far Cry 5 (I'm postponing the final mission since it sucks) and today I went back to playing Far Cry 4. It lacks some of the fun of FC5, but I also don't have to really search for enemies to kill like I do in FC5 because of the resistance gaining back territories.
Also, anyone ever have an issue with their XBOX One powering on automatically even though the "always on" feature is turned off ?
I woke up this morning because I heard mine power on and the only explanation I can think of is there was a minor power surge and my Xbox kicked on as a result. Everything runs normally, but it was just a weird occurrence and it has me curious if this is a somewhat common deal.
ETA: I think I narrowed it down on what caused my issue this morning. Apparently, batteries in the controller can cause the console to turn on as a sort of "Hey, change your batteries, dude" deal. I'm hoping that since I changed the batteries in my controller for fresh ones, this issue will not happen again.

Wasteland II. I dunno yet if it's got a precursor to Fallout's ghouls, but it might yet.
It's a fun and engaging game so far, though I wish the devs hadn't fallen into the trap of unskippable cinematics.

Re: What are you playing?
Been having fun playing Battlefield V. Apparently all the additional DLC content for BFV will be free as it comes available in timed releases. In the past DLC add-ons have been $14.99 each. Or a premium pass would be $49.99 and up which gets you all the releases. And since the initial release, DICE added another campaign story mission and a practice range DLC, plus patches and nerfs and buffs as usual.
I'm just getting into piloting. Flying the WWII planes, the physics is different than the BF4 flying physics, so there's a learning curve, but not so steep for a BF4 World ranked fighter pilot. LOL.
Anyhow here's what the planes look like, and it's my first real attempt at multi-player dogfighting, didn't do too bad starting out with a rank 0 [non upgraded] Spitfire.
And here's my YTUBE playlist for BFV. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X4Nv2QY ... 8H1IoSvjbL
Also still doing the Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Wildlands Challenges. And occasionally PvP which is a 4v4 multi-player called Ghost Wars.
GWR Challenges etc playlist.

Re: What are you playing?
Speaking of Battlefield games, the only one I've sort of played was "Battlefield: Hardlines" or whatever the one was called where you play as a cop (or was it a DEA agent?).
It played ok, but I felt like my hand was being held the whole time. It felt super linear and didn't allow for any creativity in taking down the bad guys. That game kind of soured me on the whole Battlefield franchise.
It might've been different had I played the online side of things, but I don't have an XBOX Live account (well, I do, but I don't have the one where I can play online with friends or other players).
