Hello guys.

I own a large chest rig. But its quite big for some applications. I wanted a slim, small chest rig, specially for home defense; I looked around internet but I saw nothing worth it for a small price.

So I had a bunch of spare materials and broken gear, boredom, and a sewing machine. And so I made this. Inspired in a Chi-Com rig, I made a Molle platform. Its very, very minimalistic, so no chance to overload it. Pouches are spare MFH, Condor and an old modified OC pouch for the Tear Gas canister.

I love it man. I don't have any self-made tactical gear. Just some self-made paintball gear, and that is pretty simple. You did a great job!

Thank you! Well, share your paintball gear if you want to. Maybe this thread kicks in due to other contributions and we all can draw some ideas :D

Very cool rig, Doc. Reminds me of the ChiCom SKS rig I used to have.

I can't really contribute anything since all my gear is factory made, but I will be checking in to see the homebrew gear y'all can make.

I don't have any self made chest rigs.
I did modify my one chest rig with Kydex inserts in the mag pouches to make removing/reinsertion easier.
Pictures are too big to upload unfortunately.

I really do like the more slimmed down chest rigs, really helps with being able to move around and maneuver easier. Eventually I'll be getting a two mag chest rig to run with my AR pistol so I'll be really minimalistic :awesome:

Not so much homemade but I mounted some slik clips to my HPG Chest pack to hang a small HSGI chest rig from. Using a single strap from the rig for stability and the HPG harness to hold most the weight.

EDITED TO SHOW ACTUAL PICTURE!!

Nice looking rig. I still use a belt system, myself. I guess that I am a dinosaur. :)

I was a belt guy early in my career but found the value in a rig. Opens the belt area for other items.

I must admit that I was all hipe and no knowledge when regarding to gear. Then things changed, and I cherish belts a lot. I have a belt kit too. Since We are not legaly allowed to have rifles were I live (and barely pistols, and that is subject to change) my belt is pistol centered. The small chest rig I made was to obey a particular need. As you say, "gear doesnt dictate the mision, mision dictates the gear". I own a shotgun for property defense and things have been getting ugly lately; standing home defense has shifted to home defense against small groups of un-organized but dangerous home invaders.

I have always liked the US ALICE system. Even aesthetically. When my country's army used to have training ties with the US, many soldiers here used it. Old soldiers around here still do, at least the guys who operate on border and jungle patrols. Venezuelan Army issues a very poorly made tactical vest!

I know that I am probably making a fool out of myself. But I really got a laugh from this one. Sorry for the beat up jacket, it only amounts to character.

Here am I, Tactical Greaser. Dressing pouch for the Marlboros. Because, who needs a dressing? You only need a smoke.

Weird some can see the pic and others can't. I used to use flickr but I think it died off. Google does not have the best tools to embed the images.

I'ev tried two computers with both I.E. and Firefox but all I see is a round circle with a bar/line in it.

When I look at what you pasted in for the image url it does not end in BMP, JPG, PNG etc. so that may be a problem
