eBay Wins

Post by BullOnParade » Mon Oct 28, 2013 3:47 pm

Much like the Thrift Shop Finds thread, let's see everyone's Bug Out Gear related eBay wins.
I just recently fell back in the habit of browsing eBay. I got curious what kind of wins others have had.

My most recent win is a bulk order of 10 bayonets for my VZ 58. The entire lot cost $25, plus shipping from the Czech Republic. Comparably, the cheapest I've found these bayonets elsewhere is $7.50, but that retailer doesn't ship to Canada. The VZ58 being so popular in Canada, I will easily be able to resell the extra blades, or give them away to friends who have their own.

So what has everyone else gotten off eBay which they thought was a steal?

Used medical clip boards. I got like 3 of them at about $12 each with shipping. I used them all the time and to buy them new is generally a kick in the teeth. They may not make a survival situation any easier. They do help make my every day life easier.

A Budweiser logo'd Obus Forme backpack. I got it while in college 10+ years ago for $10 shipped. I still have it, and it's in great condition and comfortable.

Cheapest ILBE I ever scored was about $35, I buy most of my clothing and gear from eBay now, as well as a good bit of my wife's clothing. if you have more time then money like me you can by most things at a huge discount. I think the wildthings stuff is the biggest score to date, something like $848 worth of hardshell at 85% off.

I was just thinking that I kept seeing medical cllipboards everywhere, then realized I was thinking about Fallout Vegas.

A while ago I picked up a flashlight mount for my sawed off shotgun that I call my "Bump in the night" gun. It is a figure eight design, one half around the barrel, other half around an LED flashlight. I paid $0.99 for the clip and a few dollars for shipping. I wouldn't trust it to not break if I use the barrel to breach a door, but otherwise it works OK.
