melee weapons of choice

For those who live in areas where firearms are not an option and those that are smart enough to have a back up.

melee weapons of choice

Post by crappysurfer2 » Wed Dec 28, 2005 12:37 am

if you had to pick between 2 melee weapons what would they be?
the scenario is your traveling a few miles to a more secure area
i would take a trench spike for close range
and either a katana or shaolin sapde for medium-long range,
lets hear it

Well Id have to say for close range Id take a fully loaded XD .40 so as to pisto whip my opponents with if'en I decide that shooting them is just too easy.... For medium range Id take my ZM4 carbine with a full mage to compliment my chest load of ammo, and xd .40 side arm, thus allowing my to duely buttstoke my opponents until their grey matter witness's the light of day.

Never underestimate the damage of a buttstroke.

Do you think that using a trench spike or your large sharp metal stick is not going to result in contaminated matter from reaching you. Sorry surfer but your going to get splattered regardless of what weapon you use if you decide to engage in any form of melee/close combat.... thats one of the many reasons melee with the opponent is discouraged.

This is kinda lame as surfer dude is reading straight out of the zombie survival guide (which was I should mention written as HUMOR)

I'm bored though so just for shit's and smilie faces I'll play along.

My choices would be my personally designed tomahawk and a 6' staff.

Though ranged weapons are obviously designed for ranged combat that does not discount them from being used as melee weapons. Infact the military drills with them as melle weapons. Given that though I can see a scenario where I dont have ammo, I do not see a scenario nearly so likely that I dont even have a rifle. If I have my rifle Ill be using it as a melee weapon well before I pull out a knife.

Now if I hapen to have a machete, or a crowbar Ill use them first, but Im much more likely to already have a rifle in my hands.

Yes I know this (military offshoot) I lived it my whole life. But the definition of a melee weapon is one used solely for close combat. A rifle is not a melee weapon even if you can use it to bash someone's face. It's primary function is long range offense. Anyway not to get in a pissing match. Long as no one comes out next saying they are gonna use a grenade launcher, flame thrower or a high yield warhead. Cause I'll use my rifle to bash their face.

If I ever ran out of ammo (HAH!), I would have to use either a) my Becker Knife and Toold Patrol Machete or b) my Cold Steel kukri machete. Both are light, easy to carry and double as brush cutters, tree fellers, rope hackers, whatever.

If you run out of ammo and things get that tight

RUN!

Why does every smartass in the vally always post gun shit in the other weapons form are you trying to break balls to the people who can't own a gun.

Indeed. Edit:Wait, did you mean that he is correct that people shouldn't do that, or that you are busting his balls? Whatever. I agree with Raven.

On topic, I choose this.
