Night stand / Shield and club

For those who live in areas where firearms are not an option and those that are smart enough to have a back up.

Night stand / Shield and club

Not sure how effective it would be but just got to try making one. wrote:“If you can survive a zombie apocalypse, you can survive anything,” said Eerie. This was covered a few years ago. Glad to see the original design has been improved upon. Sorta. That sticking point above the wearer's wrist worries me.

Group consensus is that you may as well have a real shield with a weapon you like.
See you around, HK. And remember folks: victory is surviving to watch another sunrise.

Pretty sure it would support the weight of my 1911, just not the 2y/o that regularly jumps on my actual nightstand...

I think shields are badass, and if I couldn't have a gun in my house for whatever reason, sword and board would be a fun alternative. Could we mount a flashlight on it for proper target id?

I believe the problem with this is two-fold.

One, in the spirit of true preparedness, I have several, better weapons stashed in critical locations throughout my residence. So why would I use my nightstand when my Beretta 92FS would be very mad at me for "cheating" on it, or even my wife's Tokarev TT-33 for that matter.

Second, a sheild implies that you could potentially take damage in the first place. As I am both immortal and invincible, I believe this is overkill (J/K!!).

Guns may be useful in a Zombie Apocalypse, but nothing is a match for:

Attack Chihuahuas- God help you if I loose the attack chihuahuas...
