Instead of making a whole new thread I'll just put this here.

I'm looking to replace my fixed blade knife. I'm presently switching back and forth between a SEAL2000 and SEAL Pup. My SEAL Pup got mangled and I was going to just pick up another one but figured I might try something else.

I've narrowed it down to either the Esee 6 or Esee CM-6. I've never owned an Esee before.

The intended use would be for a fighting knife/utility knife.

Any input would be appreciated. Thanks

I have an Ontario 6 inch knife. And an ESEE 5. I figured out after having them for some time that both are way to big for me. Not by much. But the big square handle on the ESEE is just a little to much for me to handle. Or I should say the handling of the knife with ease would be better if the handle were smaller.

I'm now looking at the Vulture Cholera. Terrible name for a knife. But I really like what they've done with the blade and especially the handle. It's very ergonomic and smaller around. Not so large and square like the ESEE.

Here's the original Cholera. The new one (Mk2) is on there site but they don't have a good pic of the blade. The blade will be very close to the older model Mk1 shown below.

I recently got the Gerber strongarm. Which I think is a better version of the sog seal pup idea. It is about the same size. Same price. Still pointy, cuts a bit better and has a better sheath.

Hey guys, i don't know if this is the right topic to do that but im looking for a Kissaki-Moroha-Zukuri sword(kogarasu-maru like), Someting that i can really use to cut something and not just a decorative, but the market seems to be small and i could only find these:

Dynasty Forge KOGARASU-MARU Katana
http://www.samurai-swords-for-sale.com/store/product.php?productid=1470

Musashi Cloud Dragon Katana - Kogarasu Maru
http://www.samurai-swords-for-sale.com/store/product.php?productid=1486&cat=0&page=1

Raptor Katana, Moroha Zukuri by Paul Chen / Hanwei
http://casiberia.com/product/raptor-katana-moroha-zukuri/sh2413

Cold Steel Double Edge Katana
http://www.samurai-swords-for-sale.com/store/product.php?productid=1056&cat=0&page=1

Are any of those good? Can anyone recommend any sword in this style better than that that is less then 1,5k?(sorry if this is the wrong topic)

Over time, I think a person would happen across more than one-fixed blade knife and the specialty blades like swords and such are dependent on the individual’s environment, likes and needs. If this is a "best" or "you can only choose one" type thread than count me out. The one I have when I need one is what counts. As a rule, I think a knife is the most important tool. Keeping this in mind, I have quite a few I like and use, and a few more that are more collectibles or gifts, which I could put into use in a pinch. Here, for example, are pre-purposed blades I use: an old bayonet affixed to a green hunting pack and a smaller blade, ESEE, with what I call a MR pouch. (MR = minimum requirement).

Nah this is just a recommend a good fixed blade thread use and such can vary hugely, it's not that hypothetical realm.

On another note.

I'm looking at one of those Gerber Strongarms for my battlebelt.
