Sinuous bush chopper for Knife Rights

For those who live in areas where firearms are not an option and those that are smart enough to have a back up.

Sinuous bush chopper for Knife Rights

Post by Storm Crow » Fri Aug 18, 2017 11:24 pm

My donation piece this year for Knife Right's Ultimate Steel fundraiser:

13.5" blade forged from 80CrV2, marine epoxy-impregnated black-over-tan paracord handle wrap, black Kydex sheath.

I'd rather sweat and feed mosquitos in my shop than wrestle with lawyers and politicians. Thanks, guys!

Thanks!

For anyone in Texas, there is going to be a Bring Your Own Bowie event at the Alamo on Saturday, September 2, the day after the new laws go into effect. I won't get the go because I'll be at the USN Gathering show in Las Vegas, but there will be plenty of local makers representing. Including some of my fellow Texan Forged in Fire champions. :)

That's awesome. I wish I could attend that gathering, but San Antonio is a bit far for me right now. :(

I wasn't even aware Texas was going to change those laws regarding Bowie knives.

Sweet looking blade as always, Storm Crow.

It's a great looking knife  . Do you make knives with a handguard? I would like a knife that size but a large handguard is a must. Think Dutch saber size?

I hate fitting guards... Guards serve two basic functions: 1. Provide a mechanical lock to prevent the hand from sliding up on the blade. 2. Catch an opponent's blade to keep them from cutting your hand. These days, your chances of needing to catch an opponent's blade is roughly the same as being struck by lightning while being abducted by aliens. The Turk's head knots provide a good mechanical lock on the hand.

I was off at the USN Gathering knife show the day of the Bring Your Own Bowie at the Alamo, but Knife Rights ended up postponing the event due to Hurricane Harvey anyway. Some local knife makers and enthusiasts came anyway.
