So just say there's a SHTF scenario and for whatever reason you can only have one gun.
What would it be?

T26 Garand in .308

on a side note: its sort of sad that a survival forum has a spell check that doesn't recognize the word/name Garand...

Not a glock man myself, but I like your thinking.
Everybody is posting large weapons.
Fact is larger is heavier if you have to travel, lousy for close combat, and in situations where large game is not around you will do nothing but splatter your meal.

Canned, SBR'd 5.56 prob AR-15 with left side folding stock which accepts standard AR15/STANAG mags with a low power BDC scope and TLR1 light. With the .22lr bolt.

Compact with light for house clearing, SBR for obvious reasons, BDC but low power for short to mid range use. Yes, there are farther reaching calibers, but "defensively" shooting outside of 250 yards or so... never heard of it. It's a NATO caliber, easily found, serviceable for game from large deer/small elk down to raccoon size, and for anything larger, you've got 30 rounds to pound downrange. Ammo is a compromise between energy and size/weight. For smaller game I can pop two pins and slip in the .22 bolt.

Late model Mini 14 in .223, takes a beating. I prefer my mini in 6.8spc, but the only 6.8 ammo in the state will probably be what I have stockpiled.

Well played good sir, well played indeed. Would that be considered a game changer?

OK, seriously now. AR-15. In my case, I'd grab my PSA carbine w/ eotech. I'd sure miss the hell out of my G19, though
