Well for dreams I guess I would go with things I already have:

An AK-47 (AMD-65 in my case).
A Glock 19 (Mine is a Gen 3)
And a Mossy 500.

No pictures since I am away for work at the moment.

If I did not need to take a shotgun I would substitute it for a .357. Probably my SP101 or an LCR, as a last ditch hold out gun.

FN P90 with an Aimpoint Micro
FN Five-Seven with TLR-1 for sidearm.
S&W Model 36 for back up just because I'm classy.

One of the most important things when the SHTF that people tend to forget about is keeping a low profile - having fairly quiet weapons and not drawing attention and alerting more aggro is the way to go. Also, having your weapons take popular ammo is a must. A 12g would be nice, but if I had an "M4 type" with a good backup, I'd drop the shotgun. If your "M4" and pistol cant handle most situations then a slow firing/reloading shotgun, although great for a few shots is not likely to make a huge difference generally by adding to them two weapons. Also, assuming you get to a better, safer place, having a small calibre (i.e. .22) hunting rifle and a LOT of ammo would make a HUGE difference, for keeping your stomache full and hence you and yours alive, and could even be used as a fairly lethal weapon, when most people are out of ammo and using bows and sharp sticks...

Steyr AUG III with Standard Swarovski made scope and side mounted EOtech red dot sight
H&K UMP45
CZ75 SP-O1 Phantom with Insight XTI Tac light and Crimsontrace grip

The Old fashion American Survivalist in me would like these

Springfield M25 Whitefeather
Remington Super Express Magnum
Colt 1911 Combat Commander

Ok the Mall Ninja Inside of me has changed over the years...

Steyr AUG A3 M1 with Vortex Raptor Scope
Remington 870 Tactical
Walther PPQ First Edition

So far I own a Walther PPQ Navy (9mm) and some day I will get the Steyr AUG.
Like in 9 days

ONLY 3? Good thing my wife and daughter will be with me. My choices are......

1st- rifle sks- common ammo, known to function when others won't, well mounted 4x scope and folding stock preferred. (Other option would be scout scoped mosin carbine.)

2nd- ruger 10/22 take down- light weight, reliable, abundant ammo, good for hunting can be used as back up rifle in a jam.

3rd- ruger p-series 9mm. See reliability and common.

The reason I didn't pick a .308? 7.62x39 and 7.62 x 54 are BOTH cheap, and abundant. The "average mosin" will hit mil of man at 400 yards, and an accurized sks is quite formidable at 350 yards. But in a situation you would need all 3 of the above it would be better to evade and escape than to take shots at something 100 to 500 yards away and pull aggro.
Invisibility is underrated.

For myself:

Bushmaster ar.
Either my Springfield 1911 or Glock 19. Probably both.
Browning BPS 12ga.

For the wife:

Ruger 10/22.
Ruger SR9c
Browning Buckmark. This would have been an SR22, but after going back to the factory 3 times and ruger not wanting to give me a replacement, that gun is getting sold IF it passes a test firing at the range this Saturday.

I have to comment again because I just had a dream this morning about being in a weird apocalyptic sort of situation. I had my Witness (.45 acp), which is a little weird because I hardly carry it these days, but I was sure glad I had it. I was wishing I had an AR-15; I guess I wasn't thinking 3 gun...but if I had to come up with a 3rd, in that situation I'd probably want either my G19 (better for concealment) or a silenced .22 pistol.

My three gun setup would be fairly straightforward.

1. Mossberg 500 - as long as I am able to stay in my house I will be using the 12 gauge. If I ever need to bug out I would probably still bring it, but I would need to ditch it if the ammo got too heavy.

2. AR15 - I don't have one yet, but I'm hoping to get the new Ruger AR-556, heard its a really good AR for the price. This would be my primary long range rifle, up to 200 yards. I might put a scope on it but I would probably just stick with irons for the PAW.

3. 9mm or .45. Again, I dont have one yet, for the PAW I would probably pick the 9mm overall. S&W M&P9 or a Beretta 92FS.

Hopefully I will be able to get the AR and 9mm before the SHTF.

I just re-read this entire thread, and I think "3 gun" does not mean what some people think it means.

Image

http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shooting_sport#3-Gun

For this kind of competition, I would use my AR15, my Sig P226 until I get more mags for my G21, and the VEPR12 I just bought.

And you already have all 3, so you aren't exactly dreaming.

Some dreams come true. :D

But I guess I could wish for an AA12, FN SCAR, and a G19.

Might pick up the latter two sooner or later.

Besides, this is ZS--since when do we actually stay entirely on topic and address only the specific question asked?

After a search on the web I suppose a:
Beretta 92F
Beretta CX4 Storm
Kel-Tec SUB2000

All share the same magazine.

Note:
But I doubt I will be comfortable with a 9mm.

Heavy Metal:
DPMS GII Recon, with Troy fixed tritium sights
Mossberg 590A1 with ghost rings (51517)
Sig-Sauer 1911 XO Black

Yeah, that'd be pretty cool.

My suppressed 300 BLK SBR
Some flavor of .45 (some days I like the Glock, some days the 1911); both suppressed
Krieghoff K80 over/under shotgun

Then I'd sell the K80 and buy a nice auto loader plus enough ammo to last me a lifetime!

And still have $$ left over!
