funny bit of info regarding australia and new zealand.

when Australia became a country in 1901, the option for new zealand to join australia as a state was agreed upon by all the states, new zealand ended up staying its own country, but, the option hasn't been written out of the australian constitution

also, its close but I still think australia is the king of the islands (reference CCP Grey)

As a former tanker toad (NKAWTG!) before I crossflowed to airlift, this one was in my wallpaper rotation for a long time:

That's ridiculous. Washington crossing the Delaware w a Naval Special Warfare Team, 2 little birds and a snake. The tales that could be told out of some of these pictures. The Civil War ones are so serious that it makes it even funnier.

The Man In The High Castle was an early alternate reality tale

Thank God the Nazis could be stopped. From eugenics (although it didn't start there) to human furnaces and a plan to destroy or enslave everyone else, they were evil inside and out. Their hypocrisy can only be measured in giant scale, and people are still fighting about what was real and what wasn't. Ever read "The Pink Swastika?"

These pictures superimpose now and then images to make one consider other outcomes. Very interesting, to me.

The likelihood of NAZI Germany prevailing in WW-2 was remote.

The invasion plan as outlined above stood zero chance of prevailing for a variety of reasons including but not limited to its reliance on "5th columnists" and Japanese success in war in the Pacific.

The only way an invasion would succeed is if the Axis powers developed nuclear weapons AND had a device capable of delivering them on target. Remember the ww-2 nukes weighed over 10,000 lbs. They would have been useless weapons without a B-29 type of capability which neither Germany or Japan possessed.

All you have to do is read the preparations for Operation Olympic which involved the invasion of a much smaller land mass that had been devastated by aerial bombardment with a population the fraction of the US to see exactly how difficult it would be for Germany and Japan to invade much less hold the US.

The Germans lost the war with Operation Barbarosa. That said that was their best shot at winning since the USSR would do nothing but get stronger if they waited.

Most folks fail to realize - Germany is roughly the size of Montana.

In my book - A Man Out of Place, I postulate that WWII, as we know it never happened, with Germany invading Mexico instead. It was a fun exercise.

In the book, I make the point that Germany was, essentially, doomed from the beginning owing to population constraints, lack of resources and logistics - mostly logistics.

With Russian Socialism vs German Socialism - tensions erupting into open warfare was almost a forgone situation. Bad times indeed.

Semantics, but the likelihood was and remains zero. NIL. NONE. ZED. These images can 'scruntch' time but the Nazi defeat is a fact that has been known for over 50 years. Given the laws of probability and a two-sided coin I do not get to flip it.
