Curious how people rate these items in importance for daily carry:

- Cell Phone
- Wallet/ billfold (and contents)
- Keys
- CCW (if you have one)
- Other Item (if higher than the above)

Just to be an outlier here: I don't carry.

1) Wallet/Cellphone/Keys (can't really rank one above the other two because I simply cannot leave the house without any of them)

2) Keychain flashlight
3) Mini mulitool (Leatherman Style CS)
4) peanut lighter
(previous three are all on my key chain, but I ranked them according to frequency of usage).

5) Wristwatch
6) Power bank/flashlight combo
7) Folding knife

I cant rank wallet/cell/keys higher than the others.

I don't a CCW, but on days I'm not working a knife always goes in my pocket.

I have to rank keys as #1. I lock the door every time I walk out of the house even into my back yard (yes I know it is PITA but I live in NOLA you never know when some ne'er-do-well will try to sneak into the house.

I always have my keys with me.

I almost always have my CCW in my pocket for the same reason.

My smartphone is also my EDC flashlight.

I frequently ccw without an ID of any kind, since I am generally on my property, I do not need one.

Thus:
Keys
CCW
phone/flashlight
Wallet (if driving) with ID, CCP, 2 credit cards and generally only $20 cash.

I rarely carry a knife but I have them everywhere, in my car, office, bedroom, etc.

After the last time the one of the kids lost their keys I installed an electronic lock on one of my doors and took their house keys away. No more lost keys. I suppose they could give up the pass code even though they know better but it is doubtful.

I'd just make sure to have one working in the vehicle. While very useful it has it's limitations. The other night I stopped someone trying to change his tire along a really dark stretch of highway with only his cell phone flashlight. Not only was it very dangerous but he was quite flustered and very thankful for me standing there for a few minutes holding a really bright light so he could get the job done.

Good advice as usual.

I use a lot of electronic locks at work. Smart cards, key pads (mechanical & electronic) even internet enabled locks. They are good for kids and employees (kinda being redundant there).

I hate them all for a wide variety of reasons ... the electronic locks, not kids or employees ... especially those little bastard locks that lock up when the lithium battery dies without warning (never mind that it has been beeping for week but "no one heard it") and nobody on the staff can find the f'ing override key.

I prefer Mul-T-lock mechanical locks for my home. Opinion and preference here, not fact.

As for flashlights I generally have at least one where ever I have pocket knife, generally secured to it via a lanyard.

I resisted the flashlight function on my smartphones but I have to admit that the flashlight app (Privacy Flashlight) on my Samsung S7 Active is a pretty damn good light for EDC.

I don't ccw while in my building at work. I could but my building is pretty dam secure physically and we have a security force, plus there are several other people who work there that I trust who ccw. Weapon stays in my vehicle and depending on where I'm going after work I either put it on or leave where it's locked til I get home. Most anytime else I have a pistol of some sort on my person. Out and about or even at home. That's the only thing I can justify in importance.

On my person at all times are Keys, wallet, cell, flashlight, two small multi tools. Cheap edc folder ( I do lose a lot of them) .
In the ccw pack in the truck there is extra ammo, another better folder, a decent fixed blade, a better multi tool, gloves, impact resistant sunglasses, extra flashlight and two holsters. And then I also have a get home bag with more toys and food. ( I have a lot of stuff to tote). Oh and two clubs. ( shillelagh style walking stick and a IDK about a twenty inch attention getter club made out of a cut down axe haft ). You know walk softly but carry a big stick 8-) . So it's hard to prioritize any of this as I never leave home without any of it.

OOPs ... Forgot I also always carry a nail clipper. You know , so I always look spiffy :awesome:

Most important on a daily basis is my wallet. It has ID, Credit Cards, Cash, Important Info, and even a simple card multi-tool. Living in a Suburban area, cash is still king most of the time and can get you a lot.

Next probably my phone, it's communications, a simple flashlight, carries a lot of useful information, and can access a lot of useful information.

Next I'd say pocketknife. Being a very hands on person, it's such a useful tool. Plus it's a better defensive tool than hands alone.

Next, keys. I could technically get away without them because I don't need to carry keys for my house or truck, but it does have my ferrocerium rod on it for fire starting and a whistle, both useful survival tools.

Finally my tactical light. For most tasks the phone light is enough, but sometimes having a truly bright light is handy.

I occasionally carry a pen and handkerchief too, but not all the time, so that would put them at the bottom of the list.

Unfortunately in this state I can't carry a handgun, but if I could I'd probably rank it a tie with my wallet just because, if you need a handgun, chances are you REALLY need a handgun.

- Wallet/billfold with this item I can easily replace/acquire all the other items on the list
- keys
- Other Item-Knife
- Cell Phone
- CCW would be higher but live in NJ :?

Cell phone and knife are actually tied.

1. Keys. I don't want to be locked out. It also has my light on it.
2. Wallet.
3. CCW.
4. Everything else. Sometimes I forget my phone & watch.

Keys/purse - can't drive without them.
Anything else is far below those.

Of course, my purse has many things in it.

Wallet/ID
Keys
CCW
Knife
Flashlight (don't always carry one but the phone works as well).

My knife sadly is mostly used as a box cutter at work, and would likely fail in a SD situation, but I conceal carry pretty much whenever I leave my house, and would much rather draw it than my knife in a SD situation.

My "batman" pouch - as my kids call it. SIngle leather pouch with kydex dividers I made a while back. Has flashlight, small knife, spare magazine, $20 bill, spare barn key (all other keys are duplicated in barn).
Started out just as a way to keep a spare mag and edc light together...then grew. Its build in an old PDA case, so not much bigger than todays larger smart phones, albeit a bit thicker and usually has my badge clipped to the front of it.

Pouch first, then pocked knife and ccw, keys wallaet phone radio and multi-tool next.
