If you had to accept strangers into your home in a post-apocalyptic world, what 3 serious and/or humorous
rules would you impose, to protect your family and ensure order is kept?

Firstly, I wouldn't...

...But if I did:
1. It puts the lotion on it's skin
2. It does this whenever it's told
3. It puts the lotion back in the basket

I think there would be more than 3 and would certainly be very dependent upon the age and ability of the strangers.

If limited to 3 though they would deal with these key subjects:

1) Peace and protection of the household: no fighting, obey the rules, protect the house and other members of the household, no damage to property and expect the household members to do the same for them.

2. Pull your weight by doing as much as you can or at least give back as much as you get.

3. Suggestions are always welcome but in the end there is only one person in charge and unless it is you do what you are told.

I would also suggest this code of ethics as a guide.
Code of the West

1) Live each day with courage.
2) Take pride in your work.
3) Always finish what you start.
4) Do what has to be done.
5) Be tough, but fair.
6) When you make a promise, keep it.
7) Ride for the brand.
8) Talk less and say more.
9) Remember that some things aren't for sale.
10) Know where to draw the line.

BTW my wife and I were foster parents for a decade and we took in a lot of "strangers" during that time generally one at a time and under age age 10.
We faced this issue regularly. I used the first 3 & a few more in more age appropriate ways of course.

Running low on plot ideas again eh? You come to the right place.

To really boil it down:

1. Don't be stupid; if you don't know then ask.

2. Don't be a selfish prick; follow the Golden Rule

3. Respect yourself and others in all things.

1) Daddy has dibs on the good recliner.
2) Daddy always gets the big piece of chicken.
3) If Daddy puts on a Luchador mask and tries to pin you, just go with it.

Honestly,
I don't know if I can feasibly take strangers in. I struggle to think of where to put the friends/family that might show up.
But thinking seriously:
1.Meal times are meal times, no taking out of the pantry without clearing it with the others ahead of time
2.No sleeping on watch, if you can't stay awake, go wake someone else up. For a non PAW rule, no entering my infant son's room, I will kill you.
3.No antagonizing the neighbors

OR
1.Keep the powder dry
2.Hatchets scoured
3.Everyone on line at stand to :awesome:

1. When you use something put it back where it belongs afterwards/when you use the last of something replace it.
2. If it's not yours don't touch it.
3. Practice common courtesy and give basic respect.

C'mon now now what is a little internet capital murder between non-friends? It isn't like everyone isn't going to be doing it as soon as the satellite goes down in the middle of the Iron Bowl.

So you're mom said she won't buy you a gun huh? Not even a .22? That's a real bummer, what with Christmas coming and all. Try again on your next birthday I suppose.

Oh by the way, we don't talk about killing people around here. Not with guns, arrows or your ( who'd a thunk it) katana. There are a few other illegal activities we don't discuss as well. It's a long list for sure but can be summed up quite succinctly as "any of them".

I actually bought my own gun; dad insisted on it despite my protests; I make a fairly decent living fighting wildfires in the summer time as an FFT2. Got myself a little compact M&P9 Shield with tritium night sights; 7 to 8 round capacity. .....I never said I don't HAVE a gun, lol, I just don't like using them for personal reasons. If it was all I had immediately available, I probably would use it. Mostly I think of it as a Suicide Tool lmao; if I know I'm going to be captured and tortured for information, or say I'm trapped under a bunch of debris with no hope of rescue, slowly being crushed to death, I'd really like a quick way to end it lol; guns are the best choice for suicide in my opinion; quick and simple; probably wouldn't even feel it.

Killing people isn't illegal...not all the time anyway. Killing in self-defense is perfectly legal. A judge sentencing a convicted murderer to the electric chair is also perfectly legal. People don't really have a problem with killing in and of itself; it all depends on who's getting killed and who's doing the killing lol. Sometimes people just need to die.

Well, yes, we at ZS do actually have a problem with discussing killing people, promoting acts of violence (i.e. shooting people in the head with arrows) and similar such discussions.

These topics of discussion are proscribed on this forum. Please do read the rules. No violence, no politics, no religion, no explosives, no illegal acts are key rules here.

We would appreciate adherence to these rules.

Well strike 2, 204.

Odds are not in your favor.

1. I dont talk to strangers.
2. Stranger danger.
3. I dont have a home.
