Interesting.
Dean Devlin is also responsible for the TV series The Librarians, which I really like.

Haven't had a nice upscale EOTW flick in a while.

Sounds a bit like Dean Cain's Post Impact.

I'd pay to see that in a theater.

I don't know...it has some big names in it, an everymanish main character, and a "we reap what we sow when we try to play God" type of mentality, so it could be good. I'll watch all types of bad disaster flicks (especially if they have a monster in them), but if someone is trying to make a serious one, I find a lot of them quite tedious. Hoping this one will be better.

Meh - yet another rehash of the classic Frankenstein meme.

Technology turns on the creator of said technology.

Just like the Terminator series.
Voyage to the bottom of the sea at least blamed a comet.

Bad story line + overdone CGI + unbelievable characters = blockbuster?

Gerald Butler as a Scientist ?

Also Geostorm sounds like a generic B Movie title, the kind of movie that shows at 3 AM on SyFy when they are scrapping the barrel on a Monday night.

Nah, Geostorm sounds more like some used car dealer sales event from the 1990's when the Geo Metro or whatever they were called still existed.

I saw the previews and it looked "meh"... I'll see it at some point. It's been a while since I've been drunk, so I'll take a swig everytime I roll my eyes to keep it fun.

Better not take the good bottle from the Shelf, you'd be wasting it.

These genre of movies are generally pants. Arrogant and/or stupid people "saved" by some underdog who was ignored. Too much CGI not enough plot.

That's why Sharknado and its sequels were such a refreshing change.

Given the space element to Geostorm, I reckon it's a rip off of Sharknado 4.

Not to mention the old GI Joe cartoons from the 80's.

Anyone remember the "Weather Dominator" Cobra had ?
