And we were thinking it was Gunny's dog Jake who did that message.

Awww, I was really hoping that Gunny had a dog like in those Bush's Baked Beans commercials. Remember those? The talking dog? Well, a typing dog would be pretty cool.

So bummed that it was just his "little girl."

Sorry, I just think that's so cute

Another good reason for proper grammar and spelling is for non-English speakers.

Online language translators being infallible as they are, it's a good idea to be accurate in your spelling so that these translators can actually translate word-for-word.

How would you feel if someone on a Russian site, say, misspelled words? The online translator you're using is stymied at those words, and you're clueless.

Lol Jake has bad joints in his older age so his computer time is limited.

Also, guys, do me a big favor: Try not to fubar the spelling of your intro posts. Especially if the title is only one word.

I don't mind the small stuff, but when I have to read posts that are 500 words long, of which 200 are spelled incorrectly, I get the urge to slap an English teacher.

Don’t forget guys not everyone on this site maybe a native English speaker, so a friendly and polite pm pointing out errors would be helpful.

P.S I am Dyslexic and I will sue for discrimination if anyone dares question my spelling or grammar 8)

You forgot a period at the end of your post.

:)

I think that if the person is new, then it is understandable. Once they have been here for a month, then it is time to start kicking ass.

You forgot to place a period at the end of this sentence.

You said nothing about correcting your punctuation. :)

As far as non-English speakers, Gunny and his Grammar Police are very patient with those who are learning English; they just become frustrated when those who know better are simply too lazy to bother.

I suppose it is a good thing my senior english teacher gave spelling and pronunciation tests.

She was a great teacher, very hard on the students, so those that failed are the ones that didnt care, she was hard, but always gave what was deserved to those that deserved it. She made us right like four papers and every one had so much of a grammar grade piece that if you fucked up, so was your papers grade.

"it's" : contraction of "it is" or "it has"

"its" : possessive pronoun; belonging to it
