Great work everyone! Now me and my son can stop packing and repacking our gear and get back to some quality reading.

Cheers!

It would appear that ZS is both the impetus for, and the distraction from, extra prepping.... and other superfluous stuff like sleep and yardwork and stuff.....

Much praise to the industrious little fellows working 24-7 to achieve the glory that is the new ZS (same same but different)

Just a heads up, tapatalk connectivity for iPhone isn't back up. Aside from that great job making the transition smooth.

So did pending membership applications make the transition or do I need to resubmit?

Tapatalk should resume when the domain name moves back to zombiehunters.org, which should be any day now. Sorry for the inconvenience.

All:

The domain transfer shenanigans have been resolved, and over the next 12-18 hours everyone should stop seeing the redirect to new.robotsquad.org.

At some point in the next few hours we will have to re-write the cookie information to write it for zombiehunters.org instead of robotsquad, and when that happens, you'll have to log in again.

My bookmark now goes back to zombiehunters, and I had to sign in again (presumably because the cookies are fixed). URL as I post this is zombiehunters.org.

As soon as /your/ DNS server pulls its updates, everything will appear to be back to normal. When you can go to http://www.zombiehunters.org" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; without getting redirected to robotsquad, you're all set.

Ask your mom what she usually does when I leave her feeling sticky, if you need help with that.

Congrats on the ZS ARIN delegation!

That was an unexpected surprise.
Big bonus for moving your sending IP out of the Cayman Islands. :)

Dumb questions:
Why did you go with IPs within Choopa?
I can understand hosting with Media Temple, but Choopa has long had an unshiny rep. Did they clean up?

I haven't done any recent regression testing on them, but do have recent (2011-Dec) snowshoe activity in 68.232.180.0/24.

We went with reliable servers, who are owned by choopa, thanks for asking. Our old host was DirectNIC, who used to be decent, but slid downhill in recent years.

We got a good deal on a box there.

Like Crypto said, we got a hell of a deal on a hell of a box with Reliable Servers.

Any ISP/hosting company can have some asshole fire off a bunch of spam from them. We had that happen a few weeks before we left DirectNIC, too, which caused me a bunch of headaches getting our IP address cleared from half a dozen spam filters. I digressed for a second...where was I? Oh, yeah, most companies will take action to shut down spammers and the like when they become aware of the activity. Even DirectNIC did, and they were pretty horrible at the end.

So, any actual evidence about this malicious behavior you're seeing on our subnet? I did have to get our IP address /and/ domain name off of two spam lists when we moved, but haven't had any problems since.

If by unshiny rep, you mean abuse@ or security@ not responding to reports of badness, I'm sure that our contact within Choopa would want to know that and would want to remedy that.

All providers have some badness on their networks, it's just part of doing business. Many also have a scheme of reassigning IPs sequentially so that as a new customer you may be given an IP or prefix that was previously associated with badness.

You're not the only infosec guy on ZS, so, please, play nice and don't shit up the forums.
