The thing said on the History Channel has a flair to it.
Quote:
If the dead should rise, well then maybe groups like the zombie squad are tipping the odds in humanities favor.

I think this needs to be imprinted on something I can wear. "Zombie Squad, Tipping the odds in humanities favor since 1492" or something like that.

I thought I've heard that line before somewhere, so I think it wouldn't be too original.

The 1492 part references back to the good ol' USA, but ZS is a worldwide organization :?

I think it helps portray us a little bettter, so I'm down with it. I don't see anything wrong with "since 2003" or "since MMIII" if you wanna be fancy

I like "Making dead things deader". Kind of the whole point of killing Zombies. As far as prepping for WCS, the other slogan doesn't change it much. I would hate to see the zombie humor get replaced with survival monotone.

We are a WCS prepping group, and zombies are the WCS. But it helps take the edge off of the realistic scenarios for which we prep, and I believe it helps get more people into the art of prepping. It's logical to prep for the natural disasters in your area, but it's fun to gear up for the ZPAW. Fun beats logic every time.

I do like the quote from Discovery though. It shines a good light on preppers as opposed to "Those crazy ZS freaks might be our only hope."

I'm with Macon. The old slogan is a good thing that's totally unique to Zombie Squad and we should stick with it.

I agree with Erik and Macon. Then again, I fear change.

I dont think anyone was suggesting replacing a slogan, just adding a new one.

Heck, as an in-addition-to slogan, I see no issues. A few of the shirts with the proposed slogan wouldn't be a bad thing. Different stuff could bring different people into the circle. My ZS shirt and my Zombie Response Team shirt have both started conversations at random places. My typical response is it's all about prepping and I redirect folks to here. Don't know if it's worked or not, but it at least got a bug in their mind. Point being, variety doesn't hurt.

How about 1725 or 2348 BC? I was just picking a silly year at random.

And unlike what is sung in the song, in 1492 Columbus stumbled across the islands we know as Cuba, Dominican Republic and the Bahamas. In fact in future years Columbus explored a variety of islands near Central America and and even South America but never North America. North America wasn't discovered by Europeans until years after 1492. Of course, it had already been discovered by the Norse and the Indigenous population. Anyway, I don't really think 1492 is a year that's equated with the USA, and if it is, it is done so falsely.

But honestly, I was just picking a number at random. Well, not totally random I guess. Being as that's the day Europeans discovered a place renowned to have voodoo zombies seemed entertaining at the time.

I like it as just:

"Zombie Squad: Tipping the odds in humanity's favor."

"Making Dead Things Deader" is catchy and it reflects the unique spirit that this community shares. However at times I think it might be helpful to outsiders if we had an additional tagline that illustrated our general emphasis on preparedness. As an anti-creative person I'm not qualified to make suggestions, but since this is the internet:

Zombie Squad
Ready for Anything

Zombie Squad
Catastrophic insurance for humanity

I know... I'm lame
