Just landed a full time job with Metal Supermarkets as a delivery driver. Good-bye Pizza Hut, and Film Biz, we'll still be acquaintances, but I won't be seeing as much of ya. :awesome:

I've worn a bunch of different hats over the last fifteen years, but I'm currently a St. Louis City Park Ranger. We're employed and trained by the Saint Louis Metropolitan Police Department, as are the St. Louis City Marshals. We're not the interpretive, historian types of Rangers, but the law enforcement variety of Rangers - big difference in our jobs. I also work secondary as a critical infrastructure security officer for a major security company, my primary assignment being SLMPD HQ.

As an aside, hopefully y'all will see me fight in this coming Guns 'N Hoses, in November.

I am the Batman. I cruise the streets of Vernacular City at night looking for evil doers and damsels in distress. Mostly I find drunks, meth heads and pill junkies.... doing something stupid or dangerous, often both. At dawn I return to my mansion on the hill and run Stercutus Enterprises during the day.

I'm actually an A-level student doing my last year, I have a provisional Place at manchester to study an MSci in Chemistry with Industrial Experiance. I plan on being an Industrial Chemsit.

I have since this post got a BSc in Chemistry, and I am now an industrial chemist.

I have since this post lived the dream, moved to Canada for a year, and now teach flint knapping, volunteer as a firefighter, and work on whatever jobs come my way to earn some cash (Boat Repair, Furniture Restoration, Selling Art, Deckhand, Woodcutter, Freelance Chemical Consultant, Tutor, Dogsbody).

But all dreams end in waking, and now I have to find another Industrial Chemist Job in the UK. I'm thinking of going back to school and being a teacher.

I am a cybersecurity professional working on a military contract with a fortune 500 corporation, processing paperwork that will never be read for those who do not truly understand what I do.

Currently I'm a software engineer. I've been alternating between that and being a Unix admin for the last ten years or so. I had a very brief stint as a network engineer.

In the past, I loaded trucks at UPS, sold vinyl siding and security systems, did tech support, and worked as a cashier at a hardware store.

Forklift Technician.
Now before you go thinking this is a horrible, grimy low-tech job, you have to consider a few things:
1) Free company vehicle. Everything is either on my way to work, or on my way home.
2) All the free unleaded gas I can burn (have not bought the first gallon of gas or used my vehicle to go to or from work in 20 years).
3) Every day something new to do, different equipment, different problem, different place, different city, never boring.
4) Recession proof. When the economy goes down, they have to spend buckets of money to keep their junk running because they can't afford to buy new stuff. When the economy is booming we sell a lot of new trucks and make money. Never have drawn unemployment in 30 years.
5) Job security. They won't dare piss me off because I could have 5 more jobs just like this one TOMORROW! We have had 2-3 positions open and unfilled everyday for the last 5 years. Nobody wants to work.
6) 401k+ matching, insurance, vacation, sick days, holidays, etc, yadda-yadda.

Here's kinda like what I do:
Suppose you are at work and call your car dealership and say: my car is in the parking lot at work and needs a waterpump. I need you to have a guy come out and change the waterpump on it in the parking lot and be done with it before I get off work...
TODAY!!!!!!
It'd be a little pricey. Even more so if it was a forklift.
We deliver miracles for $96/hour :D.

Oh, and they pay me a shit-ton of money :).

It's in what the police say is one of Swedens 15 most dangerous areas. Not that I've noticed much danger so far.

Freelance online work. Mostly data entry and paid surveys, but I just applied to a place doing content review for search engines that pays per hour as opposed to by the task.

I got my old Industrial Chemistry Job back, with a raise and a promotion. Hated it for 6 months. Handed in my notice and spent 3 months unemployed working on flint knapping, bowmaking and fletching (all of which I now sell and teach). I then lucked out and got a position that seemed exactly suited to my skill set, so now I am a Research Assistant with a leading UK university and I work on improving decontamination techniques.
