Hey, EDCForums won't confirm accounts?...

Post by Defaulter » Wed Jan 02, 2013 10:40 pm

Firstly, Hi!

I registered with EDCF a number of weeks ago, but could never get my account confirmed, only activated. Meaning I cannot post or comment, or do anything really.

I stumbled upon this lovely site while franticly goolging "EDCForums will not confirm account" etc. So I figured I'd post in the hopes one of you guys could poke an admin over there to confirm my account, I'm unable to contact any staff without having my account activated first (seems like a bit of flawed logic there). My username over there is same as here "Defaulter".

From my understanding EDCF is short staffed at the moment? or some such similar circumstance, on the plus side it did lead me to this place.

Thank you very much :]

This has happened to me as well Comrades. Go to the bottom of their forums page, and click Contact Us for a pop up messaging system.
This and the Emails they have sent me are the ones I have attempted to contact and no response yet.
I've technically been a member since December 3rd, 2012.
Send one message per an email address/page and carry on. Don't pester their admins. If they're not going to pay attention to their potential users, shame on them. Looked like a good website at the time.

I'm sure they're figuring something out. Just hang on a little.

I am a mod over at EDCF.

John has recently processed over 400 new accounts so yours could have been done.

I would suggest:

- Logging out of EDCF
- Deleting EDCF cookies
- Clearing the cache
- Restarting your browser
- Logging in to EDCF

If your account has been ok'ed then you should be all set.

If not send me a PM (and if you know anyone else who is having trouble get them to try the above & if that doesn't work let me know via PM)

P.S. some email servers are blocking EDCF as spam, so that may be why you are not receiving emails from EDCF.

Oh, I'm glad Dr Jekyll posted in here, because I was about to post and say "Sorry, ZS doesnt have anything to do with EDC and cant help out"

Sometimes we have problems with our stuff being marked as spam too, its the curse of being a busy website that sends out a lot of automated email.

I see Jekyll hasn't been on since May. Not to necro a thread, but anyone else around here that can help with this issue?
